Talking with Tonya today was a reminder that survivors truly do need safe spaces where they can speak openly without fear of judgment. Even though her experience with domestic violence was over 11 years ago, you could still feel the impact it had on her life and the passion she carries for helping others now. During our conversation, I shared a little of my own story, as well as my journey writing and publishing my book, Still, I Remain, and the duet edition I’m preparing to release soon. Tonya spoke about the vision she has for Aligning Hearts Foundation and the work she hopes to continue building to support survivors and give them a place where they feel heard, understood, and encouraged. She also shared information about her Skool community and how it can help survivors who want to tell their stories, use their voices, and potentially help others through their own healing journeys. What stood out most to me was that the conversation felt genuine, compassionate, and safe. For survivors who may feel afraid to speak up or unsure where to start, I believe spaces like this can make a meaningful difference. Jennifer L.
