The Fourth Phase™

The Fourth Phase™

$47

Be prepared before your baby arrives. Be present once they're here.

Everyone prepared you for birth. Nobody prepared you for this. The Fourth Phase™ is the preparation you didn't know existed, for the season that matters just as much as birth itself.

Written by an RN of 28 years, yours to keep

You took the class. You packed the bag. You knew your preferences, your plan, and your support team.

Then you came home.

The birth you prepared for lasted hours. The postpartum season lasts weeks, and it shapes you, your baby, and your family in ways no one thought to prepare you for.

The questions don't come in the daylight when your support system is awake. They come at 2am, when the house is quiet and your baby is finally settled. Is my baby getting enough? Is this normal? Can I really do this?

You don't need another voice telling you what to do. You need to understand why. That's what this guide is.

THIS WILL HELP YOU IF

You're leaving the hospital in a few weeks and realizing nobody has told you what happens next

You're home now, watching your own bleeding and your baby's diapers, wondering what counts as normal.

Your six-week appointment feels very far away and your questions won't wait.

You've read and scrolled and asked, and you still don't feel ready.

WHAT YOU GET

Your body's recovery. What's happening after birth and why most of it isn't something going wrong, plus your six-week visit and the questions worth bringing.

Feeding your baby. Colostrum, latch, supply and demand, and how to tell whether your baby is getting enough.

Sleep and soothing. Why evenings are the hardest part of the day, safe sleep, swaddling, and the gentle cues that help a newborn settle.

Your baby's behavior. The things that worry you most are often built in by design. This helps you know the difference.

Bonding. One of the most misunderstood experiences in early motherhood, and what you find may relieve you.

Your emotional landscape. Moving from "am I crazy" to knowing why you feel what you feel, including an honest conversation about postpartum depression and anxiety.

Home rhythms and daily flow. Newborn life runs on cycles, not schedules. Once you can see the cycle, the days stop feeling shapeless.

Support and protection in the early weeks. The actual words to use when someone asks how they can help, and when a visitor needs to wait.

Practical tools. Warning-sign references for you and your baby. A feeding and diaper log. A support circle worksheet. Scripture organized by what you need in the moment.

BONUS: The 7-Day Calm Start. When everything feels like too much, this is where to begin. One day, one small anchor, for your first week home.

BONUS: A letter to your partner. Most partners want to help and have no idea how. This says the things you're too tired to explain and he doesn't know to ask. "You are not an assistant in this story. You are a father. Your steadiness becomes an anchor."

BONUS: A letter to the mother walking this season alone. Whether your partner is absent, deployed, or this road is simply yours to walk, this was written for you specifically. "If no one has told you lately, I am glad you are here."

134 pages, yours to keep. Built to be opened at 3am, not read cover to cover.

SO THAT YOU CAN

✓ Know what's normal and what isn't, so you stop searching at 3am and start sleeping instead.

✓ Walk into your six-week visit with the right questions and leave actually heard.

✓ Recognize what your baby is doing instead of guessing, from the evening fussing to the feeding cues.

✓ Tell your partner and your visitors what you need without having to find the words yourself.

WILL THIS ACTUALLY WORK FOR ME?

If you're still pregnant: Yes, and this is the ideal time. Reading ahead means recognizing the moment when it arrives instead of scrambling to identify it.

If you're already home: Yes. Understanding meets you wherever you are in the season. You don't have to have started early for it to help now.

If you're exhausted and won't read a book: That's how it was built. You don't read it start to finish. You open what you need at 3am and close it again.

If you're not breastfeeding: Yes. Recovery, your baby's behavior, your emotions, and your home rhythms unfold the same way regardless.

If you've done this before: Yes. You already recognize a lot of it. This gives you the why underneath what you recognized, and the language for what you couldn't name the first time.

If your doctor says everything looks fine: Her clearance is the floor, not the ceiling. She tells you your recovery is progressing. This tells you what your body is doing and why.

If you've done a lot of research already: Research gives you information. This gives you a framework. Information without a framework leaves you with more tabs open and more conflicting answers. A framework gives what you already know somewhere to land.

If you're not sure what to trust: Most of what circulates on social media is rooted in fear, and fear isn't the same as understanding. This was written by a registered nurse and grounded in evidence-based care.

WHERE THIS COMES FROM

I began motherhood as a very young mom. I was carried through it by people who showed up steadily beside me, and that planted something in me that never left.

Since then I've spent 28 years as a nurse, roughly 16 of them with mothers and babies. I'm also a wife, mom to four grown children, and nana to eight.

I'm not writing this from research. I'm writing it from 28 years of standing beside women in this exact season. This is what I'd tell you at your bedside if I could be there.

I built it on one conviction: when a mother understands what's happening in her body, her baby, and her home, fear begins to quiet and steadiness takes its place.

It works alongside your provider, never around her, and it tells you plainly when something needs a call rather than a search.

THIS SEASON IS ALREADY HAPPENING

You found this page for a reason.

You're the mother who wants to understand, not just survive. And when you understand what's happening, something shifts. Fear quiets. Confidence builds. The moments that felt alarming start to look like what they are, which is restoration in motion.

The softness. The quiet weight of a sleeping baby. The way your heart is stretching to hold someone so small.

These moments are fleeting and yours to embrace fully.
