Breathwork at Green Circle Darkness Retreat | Perthshire

Friday 23rd October

18:00–20:30

This is going to be a really special one.

Set amongst the beautiful surroundings of Green Circle Darkness Retreat in Perthshire, this is more than just a breathwork session. We’ll have 2½ hours together to slow things down, get away from the usual noise and create some space for yourself.

We’ll begin with grounding, before moving into a guided breathwork journey and meditation. Afterwards, there’ll be time to settle, pull a card and share anything from your experience if you feel comfortable — there’s never any pressure to share.

Then, weather permitting, we’ll head outside around the fire pit for a warm bowl of veggie chilli with crusty bread, taking some time to connect and enjoy the surroundings. 🔥🍂

FAQs

What can I expect during the session?

The session begins with guided breathwork designed to help regulate the nervous system and bring awareness back into the body. This is followed by a meditation to allow the body and mind to settle and integrate the experience.

Most people leave feeling calmer, clearer and more grounded.

Do I need any experience?

No experience is needed at all.

Everything is guided step-by-step and you can always move at your own pace. Whether it’s your first time or you’ve done breathwork before, the session is designed to meet you where you are.

What should I bring?

• Water bottle

• Eye mask (optional)

• Blankets are provided, However, you can still get cold during the session so you can bring another blanket if you like or even your duvet.

What will the breathwork feel like?

Everyone experiences breathwork slightly differently.

Some people feel tingling, warmth, emotional release, or deep relaxation. Others simply notice their mind becoming quieter and their body more settled.

All of these responses are completely normal.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable, relaxed clothing that allows you to lie down and breathe easily. Layers are helpful as body temperature can shift during breathwork. Even come in your PJs.

Who are these sessions for?

These sessions are for anyone who feels they need space to slow down, reset and reconnect.

Many people attend because they feel stressed, overwhelmed, mentally busy, or simply want time away from the pace of everyday life.

What if I feel nervous about trying it?

That’s completely normal.

Many people arrive feeling unsure or curious, especially if it’s their first time. Everything is guided in a safe and supportive environment, and you are always in control of your own experience.

Precaution

Breathwork results in certain specific physiological changes in the body and also can result in intense physical and emotional release. While the intensity and type of breathwork may vary among techniques, they generally generate breathing patterns that surpass metabolic needs at a resting state, leading to respiratory alkalosis. The alteration in both breathing patterns and biochemistry across the body and brain induces physical, mental, and emotional changes.

Disclaimer:

By booking, you confirm you are fit to participate and take full responsibility for your own health and wellbeing during the session. If you have any medical conditions (including heart conditions, epilepsy, pregnancy, or respiratory issues), please consult a healthcare professional before attending. You must also make me aware of any relevant conditions either prior to the session or on arrival. Participation is voluntary and at your own risk.

The session with Ash was amazing. When he described the breathing exercises, I was a bit apprehensive and it made sense really quickly once we were in it. My brain cleared after 5 out of 8 breathing cycles and I could "just" feels what was going on in my body. It felt like everything connected and made sense, all without drugs 😉 I'd definitely recommend it and will be back to another session with Ash in that format. Time flew!

I went to Rooted and Grounded, run by Ash Witts, and it was exactly what I didn't realise I needed. I could literally feel my stress melting away. After the meditation, I honestly didn't want to open my eyes - that deep sense of calm and stillness is something we rarely allow ourselves to fully experience.
