Every final settlement is a chance to get it wrong. That could mean the wrong wage basis, unpaid days counted as service, or a resignation rule that no longer exists. Each mistake costs you money or ends in a MOHRE complaint.
This calculator does the maths for you. You enter 13 details, and it returns the full settlement with every step shown.
What it calculates:
End-of-service gratuity at 21 days per year for years 1–5 and 30 days per year after that, on basic wage, with the 2-year cap applied
Countable service, with unpaid leave and absence days excluded
Annual leave encashment for untaken days
Notice period shortfall, paid to or deducted from the employee
Final month salary, other dues and deductions
Net settlement amount and the 14-day payment deadline
What you get:
Excel calculator (.xlsx) with worked example values
Rules Summary tab explaining each calculation in plain language
Every figure traced to Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 and Cabinet Resolution No. 1 of 2022
Built for: HR managers, payroll teams, finance managers and business owners running UAE private-sector payroll.
About me: I’ve worked in HR in Dubai since 2005 and calculate settlements every month. I built this calculator so the rules are applied the same way every time.
Not covered in this version: part-time employees, DIFC/ADGM free zones, alternative savings schemes, KSA.
This is a calculation aid, not legal advice. Check results against the employment contract, company policy and current MOHRE rules before paying.
