I have been in that room thousands of times. Seven years, high-risk hospital, active L&D nurse right now. I have watched two mamas walk in with the same nurse and the same complication and have completely different births. One stalls at 4cm and hears the word section. The other asks to be flipped and goes to 10cm in a few hours.
The difference was never luck. It was what she knew before she walked through the door.
