Douglas Sadownick, Ph.D., is a doctoral-level clinician, licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, clinical supervisor, educator, and author with more than 30 years of experience in clinical practice and academia. He earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and served on the faculty of Antioch University, where he founded and directed the nation’s first LGBT Specialization in Clinical Psychology. He also founded the Colors LGBTQ Youth Counseling Center, providing free mental health services to LGBTQ+ youth. Dr. Sadownick has authored numerous books and articles integrating psychoanalytic, Jungian, and LGBTQ-affirmative perspectives. His honors include a GLAAD Journalism Award and induction into the Saints and Sinners LGBTQ Literary Hall of Fame He is now a psychoanalytic candidate at The Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis. He is also teaching Multiculturalism at The Chicago School.
