20hr Yoga Anatomy TT 2026 (TEACHER RATE)

20hr Yoga Anatomy TT 2026 (TEACHER RATE)

£165

This 20-hour Yoga Anatomy Training is designed to bridge science and sensation, helping you understand what’s actually happening in the body when you move, breathe, and cue yoga.

Whether you’re currently completing a Yoga Teacher Training, already teaching, or a dedicated practitioner who wants deeper insight into why poses feel the way they do, this training gives you practical anatomy you can immediately apply on the mat.

No memorising muscles for the sake of it.
No abstract theory without relevance.

Instead, we focus on functional anatomy, biomechanics, and nervous-system awareness, translated directly into asana, pranayama, and intelligent cueing.

This training fulfils Yoga Alliance Anatomy & Physiology (A&P) continuing education requirements and offers a clear, embodied understanding of how yoga interacts with the human system.

What You’ll Learn

🦴 Musculoskeletal System (Part 1 & 2)

Foundations of movement, alignment, and intelligent cueing

  • Introductory anatomy as applied directly to asana

  • Planes of movement and anatomical axes

  • Functional movement terminology (so cues make sense)

  • Muscular sensation vs bone-led alignment

  • Standing postures and spinal mechanics in practice

You’ll learn how different bodies experience the same pose differently, and how to cue for safety, clarity, and ease rather than rigid shape.

🫁 Respiratory System & Pranayama

Breath as structure, not just technique

  • Anatomy and physiology of breathing

  • The diaphragm in movement and stillness

  • How breath mechanics influence posture and energy

  • Direct application to pranayama and asana

You’ll explore how breathing patterns affect stability, mobility, and nervous-system tone and how to guide breath in a way that supports the whole system.

🧠 Nervous System (Part 1 & 2)

Why regulation matters more than flexibility

  • The autonomic nervous system

  • Stress, safety, and recovery responses

  • Polyvagal theory explained simply and practically

  • How asana, breath, and pacing influence regulation

This section helps you understand why certain practices calm, stimulate, or overwhelm and how to teach with greater sensitivity and awareness.

🧬 Connective Tissue & Fascial Systems (Part 1 & 2)

Structure, resilience, and long-term joint health

  • Fascia, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and bone

  • How connective tissue adapts to load and movement

  • Joint mobility vs joint stability

  • Synovial joints and biomechanics of motion

  • Forces used to mobilise joints safely

Includes an asana lab, helping you see through an anatomical lens.

🧘🏽‍♀️ Flexibility, Mobility & Kinesiology

Strength and stretch working together

  • The difference between flexibility and mobility

  • How range of motion actually increases

  • Strength as a requirement for safe flexibility

  • Injury-aware approaches to stretching

  • Sustainable, long-term movement practice

You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of how to support students (and yourself) in building strength, freedom, and resilience without forcing range.

How This Training Supports Yoga Alliance Standards

This 20-hour training meets Yoga Alliance Anatomy & Physiology (A&P) requirements, covering:

  • Musculoskeletal anatomy

  • Nervous, respiratory, cardiovascular, endocrine, and digestive systems

  • Biomechanics and kinesiology

  • Functional application to asana and pranayama

All content is taught through direct yoga application, ensuring it’s relevant, embodied, and immediately useful.

Who This Training Is For

  • Yoga teacher trainees wanting anatomy that actually makes sense

  • Qualified teachers refining cueing, alignment, and injury awareness

  • Curious practitioners who want to understand their own practice better

  • Anyone who values intelligent movement over aesthetic shape

No prior anatomy knowledge required, just curiosity and a willingness to feel and observe.

The Intention

To help you teach and practise yoga with clarity instead of confusion, confidence instead of guesswork, and respect for the body’s intelligence.

Because when you understand the body,

James R. - Yogi

I’m not a teacher, just very curious about how my body works. This course was accessible, fascinating, and incredibly practical. I understand my limitations without judging them, and my practice feels safer and more intelligent.”

Rachel P. - Yoga teacher (2+ years)

The fascia modules were worth the training alone. I finally understand how connective tissue responds to load, time, and repetition, and why forcing stretches never worked. My sequencing is more intelligent, and my students move with far less strain.

Tom - Yoga Teacher (5+ years)

I’ve taken anatomy courses before, but this one stood out. It wasn’t about memorising muscles. It was about understanding movement, joints, and why cues land differently in different bodies. Practical, calm, and thoughtful.

Sarah M. - Yoga Teacher

This training completely changed how I see bodies in yoga. Anatomy finally made sense, and more importantly, it made my teaching clearer and kinder. I cue with so much more confidence now, and my students feel the difference.

Priya K. - Yoga Teacher & Therapist

The nervous system and polyvagal sections were a gamechanger for me. It helped me understand why certain practices regulate and others overstimulate. I feel far more 'trauma-aware' in my teaching now.

Maya N. - Yoga Teacher

What surprised me most was how clearly the physical anatomy was linked to energy and presence. Understanding breath, fascia, and the nervous system helped me feel prana more distinctly, not as an idea, but as something lived in the body. My teaching feels more spacious and grounded.

Alex B. - Yoga Teacher (3+ years)

I’d always heard fascia mentioned but never really got it until this course. The way fascia was linked to sensation, hydration, and long-term joint health completely changed how I teach (and practice). Everything feels more connected.

Clear, grounded, and beautifully taught. I left feeling more confident, more curious, and far less attached to ‘perfect shapes’. This course reminded me that yoga is about intelligence and relationship, not forcing range.
