ABA Assessment & Reassessment Training

2.5-Hour Bilingual Training | English & Spanish

With the transition to Molina, understanding assessment and reassessment requirements is more important than ever.

Molina is not Sunshine. Different payors and utilization management systems may have different documentation requirements, submission expectations, and review processes. As providers, we cannot assume that what we have been doing for one payor will automatically meet the expectations of another.

In this 2.5-hour bilingual training, we’re going to break down the assessment and reassessment process from a clinical, documentation, and payor-compliance perspective—with special attention to the changes BCBAs need to understand as we navigate Molina.

We’ll be sharing valuable information regarding documentation requirements, assessment and reassessment expectations, medical necessity, clinical justification, utilization management, and the details that can make a difference when your report is being reviewed.

Topics include:

• Florida Medicaid Standards
• Molina Expectations & Documentation Requirements
• Managed Care Expectations
• Commercial Insurance Requirements
• Understanding UM (Utilization Management) Systems
• Cross-Payor Similarities
• Cross-Payor Differences — because they are NOT all the same
• Medical Necessity & Clinical Justification
• Connecting Your Data to Your Treatment Recommendations
• Justifying Requested Hours
• Assessment vs. Reassessment Requirements
• Identifying Red Flags Before Submission
• Common Documentation Mistakes
• How to Write Clear, Clinically Defensible Reports

Our goal is not to teach you how to simply “get an authorization approved.”

Our goal is to help you understand what you are documenting, why you are documenting it, what the payor is expecting, and how to ensure that your clinical recommendations are supported by the information contained within your report.

Especially during a payor transition, we have a responsibility to understand the requirements of the plan we are working with and ensure that our documentation and clinical practices remain compliant.

If you are a BCBA or BCaBA, or a company completing or reviewing assessments and reassessments, this is a training you don’t want to miss.
