TEXTURED FINGER-KNIT PATTERN
This is the blanket you make when you want something meaningful, calming, and beautifully simple.
The Heartfelt Blanket is a chunky finger-knit design that uses only knit and purl stitches to create texture and dimension.
Named “Heartfelt” not only for the shape within the blanket, but for the way the heart is felt through texture rather than color, this design celebrates the beauty of simple stitches working together.
It’s cozy, timeless, and quietly special… the kind of project that feels peaceful to make and even better to give.
I’ve always loved how simple stitches can create something that feels meaningful without needing lots of colors or complicated techniques.
This blanket started as an exploration of texture — how simple knits and purls can shape something soft and heartfelt.
The result is a design that feels calm, intentional, and approachable, whether you’re making your first textured blanket or adding something meaningful to your handmade collection.

Want to practice a mini heart first? Give it a try HERE
Unlike colorwork blankets, the heart in this design is created entirely through texture.
That means:
✅ No color changes
✅ No yarn joining for motifs
✅ A smooth, relaxing knitting rhythm
✅ A clean, modern finished look
Once you understand how knit and purl stitches create texture in this blanket, you can apply the same principle to future shapes and designs.
The pattern includes instructions for two sizes:
Baby Size: approximately 33 x 37 inches (84 x 94 cm)
Throw Size: approximately 50 x 60 inches (127 x 152 cm)
To achieve this size, each loop should fit about 1.5 fingers inside.
The foundation chain and bind-off rows use larger loops, about 3 fingers in size.
