You have parts to make, not spreadsheets to babysit. Fab Quote turns messy RFQs—emails, PDFs, DXFs, marked-up prints, and rough notes—into a complete quote pack with transparent math and shop-ready documentation.
Every job produces a pack you can send to a buyer and run on the floor:
Customer Quote (PDF/XLSX): professional, line-item pricing with clear notes
Router/Traveler: operations, setups, workholding, tools, inspection points
Buy List: raw material, hardware, outside services, minimum charges
Math Card: setup, cycle, material, OSV, QC, overhead, risk, margin—itemized
Assumptions and Risk Flags: what was assumed, why, and what may change cost or lead time
If it is not written down, it gets missed. Fab Quote writes it down: every assumption, every minute, every dollar.
Fab Quote is not a chatbot. It is a quoting assistant built around how real estimators quote: step-by-step, conservative, and documented.
Critical-input gatekeeping: it will not proceed without material, thickness/diameter, and quantity
Operation-based estimating: breaks work into practical shop steps, not vague “AI time”
Transparent formulas: you can see and edit the numbers—no black-box pricing
Sane defaults with accountability: if a finish or OSV detail is missing, it applies a safe default and flags it
Floor-ready outputs: formatted for buyers, operators, and handoffs—not paragraphs of text
Short, specific questions: asks like an estimator across the bench
Generic AI writes paragraphs. Fab Quote produces quote packs.
Drop in the RFQ: paste the email, attach the print, or list the basics.
Answer only the criticals: material, thickness/diameter, quantity. Everything else is inferred and clearly flagged.
Receive the full pack: Quote (PDF/XLSX) + Router + Buy List + Math Card + Assumptions.
Fab Quote follows a shop-proven quoting flow:
Setup → Run → Material → Outside Services → QC → Overhead → Risk → Margin
It includes:
Heuristics for common milling, turning, cutting, forming, welding, and finishing work
Practical time drivers (setups, tool changes, workholding, probing, cleanup, handling)
Risk bumpers for thin walls, tight GD&T, difficult materials, poor access, and rush schedules
Guardrails that flag missing prints, ambiguous callouts, and unquoted outside services
You stay in control. Enter your shop rates, margins, and material/OSV defaults once. Fab Quote uses your numbers consistently and shows its work every time.
Operation breakdowns: facing, drill/tap, profiling, pockets, bore/ream, chamfer/deburr
Time drivers: tool changes, rapid factors, workholding/zeroing, probing allowances
Risk flags: thin walls, deep holes, small taps, tight true position
Nesting/kerf/pierce allowances and utilization estimates
Bend setup plus per-bend timing drivers
Fit-up, tack, bead-length based weld estimation
Distortion and rework allowances when warranted
Fixture, handling, and cleanup captured
Powder coat, anodize, plating, heat treat, grinding
Lead times and minimum-lot charges captured so you do not absorb them
Stock-form prompts that matter (sheet vs plate vs bar)
Drop recovery and buy-length rounding
MOQ and minimum-charge awareness
First-article and in-process check allowances
Gauge/tooling notes
Certs/COC line items
Conservative by default until calibrated to your shop
Overhead and profit separated (no hidden burden games)
Rush and complexity multipliers
Risk-aware quoting instead of false certainty
Fab Quote is designed to be safe out of the gate and easy to tighten.
Conservative baseline: protects margin while you validate
Calibrate quickly: run 2–3 known jobs through it, adjust rates/multipliers once, then reuse
Override anything: final pricing is always your call
Best fit: 1–20 person CNC and fab shops quoting prototypes through small-batch production.
Not the target: high-volume programs, primes that require full enterprise workflows, or teams needing a complete ERP/MRP system. Fab Quote is quoting and planning, not ERP.
Small Shop Standard: one-time license
Optional support plans available if you want assisted setup and ongoing updates.
Is this just ChatGPT with a new name?
No. Fab Quote is a shop-specialized estimator with guardrails, defaults, and structured outputs designed for quoting and planning.
Will it replace my estimator?
No. It reduces repetitive work and keeps the math consistent so your estimator can focus on exceptions and pricing strategy.
How accurate are the times?
Conservative by design. Calibrate to your shop using a few known jobs. Tighten multipliers as you validate.
Does it handle GD&T and difficult materials?
It flags complexity (tight true position, thin walls, deep holes, exotics) and bumps time and margin conservatively. You can override any line item.
Does it create drawings or CAM?
No. It estimates and plans. You still program and build parts.
What about data and IP?
