Broadsword Volume 2: From Fundamentals to Fighting – The Compound Attack
A compound attack is an attack made up of two or more actions, usually designed to provoke a reaction from your opponent before delivering the intended blow.
In this volume, we look at several practical compound attacks:
- Feint from inside to outside
- Feint from outside to inside
- Feint St. George to cut the flank and stomach
- The Cut 3
We then put these actions together using variable footwork and structured bouting games, giving students the opportunity to explore how compound attacks work against a resisting opponent.
Broadsword: From Fundamentals to Fighting is a practical approach to developing historical fencing from fundamental technique into functional fighting.
