Created by popular demand after I made a Mother’s Day Choose Your Own Adventure, here is the Father’s Day Choose Your Own Adventure.
This is a digital download PDF you can send digitally for Dad to highlight, mark up, or fill out, or you can print it out and have him check/circle his preferences by hand.
The printable uses our simple Celebration Formula: Do, Eat, Receive. Dad communicates the general vibe of how he wants to be celebrated this year, including what he wants to do, eat, and receive, plus things like wake-up time, level of human interaction, and special requests for the day.
The goal is not for Dad to plan his own Father’s Day. The goal is for him to communicate the category of celebration that would feel good, and then his partner can plan and execute the specifics with intention.
For example, if he checks “book,” he is not choosing his own gift. His partner still gets to activate their knowledge of him and intentionally choose a book he would love.
Because the way we want to be celebrated can change every year, this helps remove the guessing while still leaving room for thoughtfulness, surprise, and intentional planning.
