Doors close on 9th October, the main challenge starts on 14th October and I’ve got a little beginner’s challenge to start as soon as you receive your booklet.

IS IT LIVE?

No, I will record and upload videos so that you get to choose the time you do this. That means if you miss a day due to other commitments, you won’t have to stop, just pick you where you left off when you can.

FAQ: DO YOU HAVE TO DO IT IN 9 DAYS?

Absolutely not. The course is yours to keep so do it at your own pace. Once done, you’ll have the framework for future writing.

FAQ; WHO WILL TEACH THIS?

Me! I’m Alexandra Cole, BA, QTS, PGCE.

I have a degree in English Literature from Bristol University (specialising in William Shakespeare and 14th Century Poetry) so I have an advanced understanding of storytelling, structure and vocabulary.

I have Qualified Teacher Status (the official government stamp of approval earned through demonstrating that I meet rigorous UK national standards). I have experience teaching in both Independent Preparatory and Primary State Schools, teaching children to read and write and then elevating them so that they can craft a story from beginning to end.

I also have the internationally recognised PGCE qualification, demonstrating pedagogical expertise. This means I am trained in the science of teaching and understand how to craft a high-quality curriculum and structure a lesson so that it flows beautifully.

I’m a mother myself and a fully booked private tutor at £67 per hour - making this course excellent value for money.

(Oh and if it matters, I also passed the 11+ before becoming Head Girl of what was, at that time, the country’s leading grammar school.)

I’ve seen lots of very expensive writing courses advertised, costing between £299 and £650 and they’re not even taught by someone who has ever been at the front of a school classroom. Writers aren’t born, they learn to write and your child should learn the basics from someone who knows what they’re doing.
