What do your walks look like now?
• Your dog is pulling, choking themselves and your arm is sore after the walk.
• Your dog is scared of the dogs barking at the fence, noises like buses, and just wants to go back home
• You are constantly looking for a quick fix like a new harness, a different leash, or a different treat and nothing fixes things
• You want walks to be the easy part of the day with your dog, not the part you dread.
This is for you if…
• Your dog pulls, lunges, doesn’t want to walk, or zig-zags on leash
• You want a method, not just a quick fix
• You’re willing to practice 5–10 minutes a day between sessions
• You’d rather build trust than use force
This isn’t for you if…
• You’re looking for a same day fix with no follow through
• Your dog has a bite history, is aggressive, or is reactive (this needs a different plan, reach out and we’ll talk)
• You want a group class instead of 1:1 attention
The Program: Five sessions, one outcome, built in easy to follow steps
Each session is in person and runs 1 hour
Session 1: Foundations Indoors
We don’t start on the street, we start where your dog can actually succeed, then build up to it. We teach engagement “look,” a captured heel, and what to do when they hit the end of the leash The three skills every future walk depends on. (Where: your living room)
Session 2: Sniff & Settle
We move to the neighborhood walks and add a pre-walk routine, so your dog’s adrenaline leaves their body before you start. Adrenaline is the leading cause of pulling and when you know how to remove it your dog will be calmer on walks. Then we take what we learned into the real world. So you feel confident in EXACTLY what a walk should look like.
Session 3: Distraction don’t phase us
Without your dog or you knowing what to do in the face or distractions your dog could develop reactivity or anxiety. You’ll learn how to keep your dog calm, focused, and desensitized to common distractions (like people, dogs, cats, ect.)
Session 4: Don’t eat that!
Your dog will learn not to eat things on the floor without you having to pull them at the end of the leash. (If this isn’t something they struggle with we will work at ignoring distractions in public) like cafe settling or walking at an outdoor mall.
Session 5: The peaceful walk & off leash skills
A full walk, start to finish, with troubleshooting built in and a clear plan for keeping it up long after our last session. This walk can be done in the neighborhood, in a public place, or at a park for “off leash” skills.
