Storytime Yoga

Storytime Yoga is a playful and interactive yoga experience designed for babies and toddlers (up to age 4) and their caregivers.

Combining gentle yoga poses with engaging storytelling, this class promotes bonding, early literacy, and motor skills development in a calm, nurturing environment.

Caregivers and little ones move together through age-appropriate stretches, songs, and imaginative tales, creating a fun, soothing atmosphere perfect for early childhood exploration and connection.

Class Structure:

1. Welcome & Settling In (5 minutes):

A gentle transition from the outside world with soft music, allowing babies and caregivers to settle in. Introductions and an overview of the class are provided.

2. Breath & Bonding (5 minutes):

Simple, calming breathwork exercises for caregivers, paired with gentle touch and bonding activities with the baby. This helps create a peaceful and nurturing environment.

3. Warm-Up Movements (10 minutes):

Gentle stretches and playful yoga poses for caregivers, with baby-friendly modifications. Babies can participate through guided movement, or caregivers can move around them.

4. Storytime Yoga Flow (15 minutes):

A yoga session woven into a story. Through imaginative storytelling, caregivers guide their babies through simple poses and movements that align with the narrative, keeping it fun and engaging for both.

5. Songs & Interactive Play (5 minutes):

Rhymes, songs, and simple interactive games that integrate movement and joy. These activities support early motor skills and coordination.

6. Story of the Day & Relaxation (5 minutes):

The class concludes with a reading of the "Story of the Day," a calming and engaging tale that reinforces the themes of the yoga session. This is followed by a short guided relaxation or quiet time to help both caregivers and babies unwind.

This class is designed to foster a loving connection between caregivers and babies while enhancing physical development, language skills, and emotional bonding through movement, music, storytelling, and shared reading.
