This is a series of self-portraits I took back in 2023, during my first trip to the UK; they are the result of my first moment of inspiration and improvisation at my friend Roger’s house.

I remember having a moment to myself at his house; I looked out towards his garden and thought, ‘I want to take some photos there!’ I rushed to fetch the camera, the tripod and a chair from the living room, and got started. I liked the colour of that wall; I felt it contrasted beautifully with the green of the plants. It was just a few minutes of exploration, yet after so many photographs taken during the trip, returning to Colombia and continuing to travel in the years that followed, I’d never had the time—until now—to revisit these photographs and bring them – finally – to light.

Most of the photos feature some really interesting shadow patterns, thanks to the tree and the strong sunlight.
