Beyond the Ponytail. Learn to Dutch braid with other mums, on a Wednesday night.
A 2 hour group braid lesson with me, Raz, in Southampton. Go from ponytail to 8 beautiful Dutch styles, with braids that stay neat for a full week.
IS THIS YOU?
You've watched the YouTube videos. You've ended up with loose braids that don't last.
Or you can do a ponytail, maybe a basic plait, and you're tired of saying "that's all I can do."
Maybe you have never even attempted a braid as no one has ever shown you how.
And then there's the school morning. The rush. The tears.
"Mum, you're hurting me."
"I don't want you to do it."
"Can you just leave it?"
So you give in, do another ponytail, and feel a little bit rubbish about it.
Here's the truth. It's not that you're bad at hair. Nobody has shown you where your hands and fingers should be. Or how to make it last and look good.
I know that feeling. It's why I started.
MY STORY
I'm Raz, Braid Bar owner and Braid Educator in Hampshire, and I own Braid School.
This all started with my own daughter. Her hair looked a mess and I was worried about nits at school. So I booked myself into a braid lesson. I went on to launch Trenza Braid Bar in 2019, then Braid School, with one aim. To help parents.
Seven years later, I've braided 5000+ heads and taught 1000+ mums, dads and new braiders.
I created my own technique that makes braids last seven days, still neat and pretty for the full week. It's the reason my Braid Bar clients keep coming back. And now I teach it to mums like you.
Nearly everyone who came to me said the same thing. "I can only do a ponytail."
So I built Beyond the Ponytail.
WHAT YOU GET
Two hours with me, hands on, step by step.
You'll learn to Dutch braid properly. I'll show you:
Where your hands and fingers go
How big your sections should be so the braid lasts
How to braid gently, so it doesn't pull or hurt
How to use product and where to put it so the braid holds and doesn't go fluffy
These are my Braid Bar secrets that make a braid last a full week.
Then you'll learn 8 ways to style it:
Double Dutch
Single Dutch
Boho Dutch
Sports Dutch Buns
Dutch Ponytails
Dutch Space Buns
The Alice Band
Half Up Dutch
One braid. Eight different looks. No more "same ponytail again."
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU
You'll leave as a confident Dutch braider.
No more "ouch, Mum." Your braids will be comfy, not tight and tugging.
She'll actually let you do her hair. She might even ask you to.
You'll save time, because one Sunday braid can last the whole week.
You'll skip the daily stress. No more morning meltdowns, no more hair battles before school.
And you'll feel proud on the school run when someone asks "who did her hair?" and you get to say "I did."
IS THIS FOR YOU?
This is for you if:
You can do a ponytail or a basic plait, and want to do more
You've tried to learn before and your braids didn't last
She says it hurts, or she won't let you do her hair
You want braids that don't fall out by lunchtime
You want me to show you exactly what to do, step by step
You'd love a fun, relaxed night out with other mums
BRING A FRIEND (if you'd like to)
Beyond the Ponytail is brilliant as a girls night. Bring your mummy friends, or ask in the school WhatsApp group who else wants in. It's so much more fun with a friend beside you.
No one to bring? That's completely fine. Lots of mums come on their own and leave with new friends. 🤎

QUESTIONS
What if I'm a complete beginner?
Perfect. Most mums who come to me can only do a ponytail.
Will it really last a week?
That's the technique I created and teach. Braids that stay neat and pretty for the full week, when you braid them my way.
What if she says it hurts?
I'll show you how to braid gently, so it doesn't pull. That's one of the first things I teach.
Do I need to bring someone?
No. Bringing a friend is lovely, but lots of mums come on their own.
Does the lesson always go ahead?
It runs once we have 4 learners. If you can, tell a friend, so we reach 4 and your night is confirmed. I'll let you know as soon as we're there.
What if I'd prefer one to one?
No problem. Look at my solo lesson on Stanstore
PS
You can keep fudging your way through a braid. But it probably won't last the day, it might hurt her head, and she'll stop letting you near it.
Or you can learn it properly, once, with me. So it lasts a full week, it feels comfy, and she asks you to do it again.
Places are limited, and the night goes ahead once we have 4 learners. Share this with a friend and let's get you finally braiding
