SoftEyes: From Autopilot to Agency

SoftEyes: From Autopilot to Agency

€299

Compulsive and addictive patterns aren't character flaws. They're learned responses that once made sense – but now cost you.

SoftEyes offers a different approach: less shame, more understanding, and enough steadiness to respond before autopilot takes over.

Who is it for?
SoftEyes is for anyone who:

  • goes into the shame spiral following a slip

  • recognises a familiar loop that repeats, no matter how often you say, ‘its the last time’

  • feels exhausted from fighting the pattern and still being pulled back into it

  • keeps trying to stop with drinking, scrolling or another habit that leaves them feeling powerless

  • doubts they can change or feels defeated by urges.

It’s useful at different stages of recovery – whether you’re starting to look at the pattern honestly, or you’ve been working on it for years and want a steadier path forward.

SoftEyes may also be useful for friends, family and professionals who want a non-shaming framework for understanding addictive behaviour and recovery.

What SoftEyes offers
SoftEyes gives you a structured, psychologically informed way to understand and work with what's actually happening. It combines video teaching, reading material, worksheets, and practical recovery tools – all designed to help you:

  • Build practical tools for coping and relapse prevention

Why SoftEyes is different

SoftEyes is built on a different idea of how change happens.

Most approaches to compulsive and addictive patterns rely on stronger willpower, all-or-nothing recovery, or insight without practical structure. SoftEyes doesn't. It's built on the belief that these patterns loosen not through force, but through less shame, more understanding, and the space to respond differently.

Adapted from a five-year specialised in-person addiction group programme run in the Netherlands, SoftEyes is shaped by patterns observed across thousands of sessions. It brings together psychology, neuroscience, and practical structure in a way that is usable in real life.

The approach is direct: shame does not help people change, but responsibility matters.

SoftEyes is not anti-effort. It's anti-force as the primary mechanism of change.

About the creators

SoftEyes was co-created by Drew Puxty, a registered psychologist in the Netherlands, and Max Vinton, founder of maximus balance. The course is adapted from the group programme that Drew designed and ran for five years, and informed by his clinical work with addiction in individual and group settings. Max brings personal experience of compulsive patterns, alongside years of living close to addiction and recovery in his family. His grounded approach helped shape the course into something you can work through at your own pace.

SoftEyes is built from real clinical and lived experience, not theory alone.

FAQs

Is SoftEyes therapy?

No. SoftEyes is education and practical skills – not a replacement for medical care, psychotherapy, or specialist addiction treatment.

How is SoftEyes different from a self-help book or YouTube videos?

Books and videos can give you insight. SoftEyes gives you insight paired with structure – worksheets, tools, and repeatable practices that turn understanding into something you can use in real life. Because insight alone isn’t enough, you also need enough steadiness to act on what you know.

Is SoftEyes only for substance addiction?

No. SoftEyes is relevant for all compulsive coping and addictive behaviour patterns.

What if I relapse while doing the course?

That’s exactly the kind of situation SoftEyes is designed to help with. The goal is to understand slips more clearly and respond without spiralling into shame.

Can I use this alongside therapy or other support?

Yes. It works well as a standalone educational resource, or alongside therapy, coaching, or recovery support.

What happens if SoftEyes doesn’t work for me?

You’re covered by a 28-day money-back guarantee. Email us within 28 days of purchase and we’ll refund you – no questions asked.

What if I’m in a crisis?

This programme isn’t emergency support. If you’re physically dependent on alcohol, benzodiazepines, or opiates, do not stop suddenly without medical guidance. If you’re in crisis or feel unsafe, contact your local emergency services or crisis support immediately.

If you’re ready to loosen the grip of compulsive and addictive patterns.

SoftEyes is built for you.

The Soft Eyes course, taught by Drew, provided an excellent overview of both the causes of addiction and the practical skills needed to navigate sobriety. What stood out most was its compassionate, non-judgemental approach, particularly around understanding urges, managing cravings, and viewing relapse as a learning opportunity rather than a failure. I think it would benefit anyone affected by addiction, as it encourages learners to revisit key concepts after setbacks, reflect on what went wrong, and continue building practical strategies for long-term recovery.

I found Soft Eyes to be a practical and engaging experience that combined evidence-based research with relatable, real-world examples, making the concepts easy to understand and apply. What stood out most was how the techniques were grounded in science while remaining simple enough to incorporate into everyday work and life. I think the program would benefit anyone looking to improve their self-awareness around addiction and alleviate the shame that comes with it.

The SoftEyes program allowed me to see the incredibly shameful and emotional side of my addictive behaviours from an angle I didn't think I needed before. Nobody chooses to become an addict, seeing that something can be done about it is not easy to see, but the perspectives I've learned changed how I feel about my own behaviours
