The longest night of the year is one of my favorite nights. It's dark and quiet, and it's a lovely time to slow down and look back at your year before the new one starts. I made this kit so you'd have a simple way to do that: let go of what's been heavy, light a candle, and welcome the light back.
The winter solstice is on Monday, December 21, 2026. None of the prompts are dated, so you can use the kit again every year.
What's included (16 pages):
What the winter solstice is, in plain words, with the 2026 time for every US time zone
A step-by-step candle ritual for the longest night (a battery candle works too)
Letting go: 4 journal prompts and an "I release" list
Welcoming the light back: 4 prompts, a word of the year and 3 intentions
Gratitude for your year, one season at a time, and a letter to the returning sun
16 cut-out yule intention cards: 8 with prompts and 8 blank
Twelve nights of reflection, from the solstice to the new year
A printable US Letter PDF and a tablet PDF for GoodNotes or Notability with tap-to-jump tabs
This kit is for reflection. It isn't a replacement for therapy or professional support.
