Teacher Frano Academy - Reading Tutoring

Welcome to your reading milestone journey! This is a special, step-by-step program designed to transform reading from a daily struggle into an exciting superpower. Parents, if your child/children have ever felt stuck on tricky letters, found it hard to blend/glue sounds together into words, or felt frustrated when looking at a page of text, this course was built just for you. When early readers get stuck on blending and letter sounds, it’s usually because they need a highly structured, systematic approach rooted in the Science of Reading. At this stage, we want to bridge phonemic awareness (hearing sounds) directly to phonics (seeing letters).

Teacher Frano Reading Academy Zoom tutoring sessions have one lessons every week to teach Kindergarten, first, second and third grade students who are struggling with blending, letter sounds and overall reading struggles. This academy features one target session per week because consistency is everything for struggling K-2 students. The exact same predictable framework for every single lesson will be used, simply swapping out the target sounds or words as we progress.

Parents, if you feel like teaching your child to read is/will be too much for you then I can assist during my Zoom tutoring sessions. These tutoring sessions will start on September 27, 2026 (Sundays only) and onward, from 3:00 - 3:45 pm.

Please note that if you have a child who is in fourth or fifth grade whose foundational reading skills need to improve then you can enroll that child in the tutoring sessions or get the lesson plans to teach the child at home. Some lessons, lesson 1 and others, can be done over a 2-3 days period. This will be dependent on how quickly your child learns the letter sounds/if your child knew some letter sound in advance. From September 27, 2026 and onward Teacher Frano Reading Academy will be held on Sundays 3:00 - 3:45 pm (Jamaican time)

Who is Teacher Frano?

I am Francine, an exceptional and qualified elementary Special Education Teacher. I have been teaching for over fifteen years in Jamaica and United States of America. I taught Reading at the following levels (Primary/Elementary and High School). Most of my years of teaching were dedicated to educating students who needed help with reading or reaching the same level as their regular peers in all subjects. I have coached Spelling competition winner and second place winner. I am committed to do the same for you child who needs help with reading and spelling.

Zoom Tutoring Agreement

The Purpose

Teacher Frano Zoom Tutoring provides targeted, high-quality, online foundational reading instruction for students in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade. We focus heavily on phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, reading fluency, and comprehension. Our mission is to move students from foundational decoding (blending) to independent, confident reading.

The purpose of this agreement is to highlight and outline the terms and conditions under which the teacher will provide the Zoom online reading tutoring to the students.

Payment Information

Tuition Fee: The cost of this tutoring will be $150 usd per month from September 27, 2026 and onward. The tutoring sessions will be held on Sundays from 3:00 - 3:45 pm.

If you select a date and time when paying for Reading Tutoring, your child will be able to attend the tutoring session for the month (all the sessions for that month).

Payment Method: Payments are accepted and can be made via credit card or PayPal.

Payment Due Date: The full payment of the tuition fee is due on the day of registration and each month following the first payment.

Non-Refundable Policy

Tuition fee is non-refundable. All monthly tuition fee payments are non-refundable. If for any reason the student is unable to continue the course or misses a lesson, please note that the tuition fee will not be refunded. The lessons will be recorded so the students can still watch it in order to continue their learning, if they were absent.

Cancellation Policy: If, for any reason, the teacher must cancel a class, a make-up class will be scheduled. If the parent cannot attend a rescheduled class, no refund will be issued but the parent will get the recording of the tutoring session.

Commitment to Student Progress

This reading tutoring course, for K-2 students, requires the support from parent, the student, and the teacher. The students' progress will rely heavily on practice at home.

• The Teacher’s Commitment:

  The teacher agrees to deliver high-quality reading instruction and resources, tracking phonics mastery, and providing transparent updates.

• The Parent’s Commitment:

  The parent agrees to support the student by ensuring the student logs into Zoom on time, from a quiet space, distraction-free environment (conducive to learning) with a working camera/microphone and supporting 5 to 10 minutes of daily at-home reading practice. The parent will communicate concerns to the teacher as promptly and respectfully.

• Communication:

  The teacher and parent agree to maintain transparent communication regarding the progress of the student, how the teacher can give extra support after the Zoom session, as is needed, and how the parent can support the student at home.

Confidentiality

The teacher is committed to protecting the student's privacy. All student performance data, assessments, session recordings (if applicable), and personal identification details will be kept strictly confidential and will never be shared without prior consent. To maintain a safe and private learning environment, parents agree that Zoom session links must not be shared with anyone (only persons assisting the student to log in to the Zoom session).

Agreement Modification

If there are any modifications to this agreement, it must be in a written format then signed by both teacher and parent.
