Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of feedback will my dancer receive? I'll focus on technique and execution, including alignment, control, feet and legs, transitions, timing, and performance details. My goal is to help dancers recognize corrections they can work on during practice.
Will you critique choreography? No. Critique My Dance focuses on technique and execution rather than changing choreography.
How long will it take to receive my critique? You'll receive your personalized video critique within 3–5 business days after I receive your full routine video. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
Will my dancer's video be shared on social media? No videos will be shared publicly without separate, optional parent/guardian permission. Choosing not to give permission will not affect your critique.
Video Privacy & Submission Policy
At The Dance Edit, your dancer's privacy is important to me.
Private Video Submissions: Videos submitted through Critique My Dance will be used to provide personalized, educational feedback on dance technique and execution.
Who Can Access Your Video?: Submitted routines and completed critiques will be accessed by me for the purpose of preparing and delivering your personalized feedback. The file-transfer and storage services used to process your order may also handle these files.
Video Storage & Deletion: Submitted videos and completed critiques will be stored temporarily while your order is being processed. I will delete my stored copies within 30 days after your completed critique is delivered, unless you separately authorize longer retention. Any copies held by third-party file-transfer or storage providers are subject to their own retention policies.
Social Media & Promotional Use: Your dancer's video will not be posted, shared publicly, or used for promotional purposes without separate, optional permission from a parent or legal guardian (or from the dancer if they are 18 or older). Declining permission will not affect your purchase or the feedback you receive.
Parent/Guardian Authorization: For dancers under 18, a parent or legal guardian must authorize the submission of the routine.
Educational Purpose: Critique My Dance provides educational technique feedback and does not guarantee competition scores, placements, or results.
