Something has changed. You can feel it, even if you can't quite explain what the hell it is.
At the Threshold: Twelve Doors Inward is a personal collection of essays about the quieter shifts that happen in midlife. The changes in our bodies, marriages, friendships, motherhood, boundaries, anger and sense of self.
This isn't a guide to fixing your life. I don't have five steps to becoming your best self, and thank fuck for that.
I wrote this for women who are beginning to listen to themselves differently. Women who love the lives they've built but are starting to ask different questions. Women who are tired of explaining away what they feel simply because nothing looks particularly wrong from the outside.
Through twelve Doors, I write about relationships, perimenopause, motherhood, intimacy, resentment, getting older, asking for what we need and the strange experience of realizing that we don't have to have everything figured out.
You won't see yourself in every Door.
But I think you'll recognize yourself in at least one.
