Project Management Implementation Intensive

Project Management Implementation Intensive

CA$457

You already understand project management. You don’t need another full PM course.

You need to refresh your knowledge, understand how PM work is executed in the real world, become comfortable with the tools and documentation used on the job, and be ready to perform confidently when you land the role.

This 3-week practical intensive is designed for experienced professionals who need to become job-ready for Project Manager roles.

WEEK 1 — PM EXECUTION REFRESHER

We’ll focus on the parts of project management you’ll actually use on the job:

• Initiating and structuring a new project
• Translating business objectives into scope, deliverables and milestones
• Building and managing project plans
• Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid delivery environments
• Roles, governance and decision-making structures
• Stakeholder identification and management
• RACI and responsibility mapping
• Managing dependencies
• Running project kickoffs and working meetings
• Understanding what is expected of a PM in organizations

Practical exercise: Build the core structure for a simulated project.

WEEK 2 — DAY-TO-DAY PROJECT DELIVERY

This week focuses on what happens after the project starts.

You’ll practice:

• RAID management
• Risk identification and mitigation
• Issue escalation
• Change requests and scope control
• Status reporting
• Action and decision tracking
• Managing competing priorities
• Stakeholder communication
• Executive updates
• Vendor and cross-functional coordination
• Meeting facilitation
• Handling delays, blockers and difficult stakeholders

You’ll learn not just what these documents are, but when to use them and how a PM uses them to drive a project forward.

WEEK 3 — PM TOOLS + REAL-WORLD SIMULATION

Hands-on exposure to commonly requested PM tools and workflows, including:

• Jira
• Confluence
• Microsoft Project / project scheduling concepts
• Microsoft Teams & SharePoint
• Excel-based project trackers
• PowerPoint executive reporting
• Monday.com / Smartsheet concepts
• Agile boards and sprint tracking
• Dashboards and project health reporting

You’ll then work through realistic PM scenarios such as:

“A critical deliverable is two weeks behind schedule. The technical team says the deadline is unrealistic, the business sponsor refuses to move the launch date, and another workstream depends on your deliverable. What do you do?”

We’ll work through how you diagnose the problem, communicate it, document it, escalate appropriately and get the project back under control.

WHAT YOU’LL LEAVE WITH

By the end of the intensive, you’ll have refreshed your PM knowledge and practiced the actual workflows expected in a Project Manager role.

You’ll also build a practical PM toolkit including a:

✓ Project plan
✓ RAID log
✓ RACI
✓ Stakeholder register
✓ Status report
✓ Change request
✓ Action/decision log
✓ Executive project update
✓ Sample project dashboard

The objective is simple:

When you get the PM job, you should know what to do on Monday morning.

After completing the intensive, we can move into your targeted PM job application and positioning strategy.
