College Ready-ish: A Guide for Parents of Teens with ADHD

Is your teen with ADHD actually ready for college? And how can you tell?

College readiness isn't just about grades or getting into a school. It's about managing assignments, keeping track of time, communicating with professors, handling daily responsibilities, and knowing what to do when things go wrong.

College Ready-ish is a 46-page downloadable, printable guide that helps you figure out where your teen is right now, and what they need to work on before college.

Created by ADHD coach and author Kristen Chase, this practical guide helps you move beyond guesswork and build a realistic plan for developing independence.

WHAT'S INSIDE?

  • The College Ready-ish Assessment covering academics, time management, communication, daily living, health, money, and organization.

  • Tools to identify where your teen needs instruction, support, or more opportunities to take ownership.

  • Practical guidance on scaffolding independence without doing everything for them.

  • Strategies for transferring responsibility from parent to teen.

  • Guidance on setting up college supports, including accommodations, campus resources, and health-related responsibilities.

  • A plan for navigating common challenges when things don't go as expected.

  • Bonus tools, including self-advocacy scripts and a quick-response plan.

This isn't about making sure your teen can do everything perfectly before leaving home. It's about helping them build the skills, systems, and self-awareness to navigate college and knowing where they may still need support.

Because college readiness is a transition for parents, too.

The goal isn't a kid who never needs help. It's a young adult who knows what to do when they do.
