Working with me — Initial Financial Coaching Session
You've got financial goals. I'm here to help you build a real plan to reach them, one that's specific to your life, not a generic template.
This isn't a cookie-cutter session. Before we even get on a call together, I spend time reviewing your full financial picture and customizing everything to your situation. By the time we sit down together, you'll have a personalized tracker ready to go and a clear agenda built around what actually matters to you.
Here's how it works:
Before our session:
You'll complete a detailed intake form covering your income, expenses, savings, debt, goals, and money mindset
I'll review your responses and spend time customizing your Personal Finance Tracker and session agenda to your specific situation
During our 90-minute session:
We'll walk through your personalized Financial Tracker together, covering the sections most relevant to your situation and goals
We'll discuss whatever topics matter most to you: budgeting, debt repayment, tax-sheltered accounts (TFSA/RRSP/FHSA/RESP), wealth building, money mindset, retirement planning, rental properties, and more
You'll leave with clarity, a concrete plan, and your tracker set up and ready to use
After our session:
You'll receive a written session summary with your key takeaways and action items
Your personalized Finance Tracker is yours to keep
Most clients find that one session opens up more questions than it answers. Follow-up sessions are available to keep the momentum going and hold you accountable as your plan evolves
This is a safe, judgment-free, confidential space. I'm genuinely grateful you're trusting me with something this personal.
A note on my qualifications: I am a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and am currently working toward my Qualified Associate Financial Planner (QAFP) designation. My sessions are educational in nature — I'll help you understand your financial picture, build a plan, and make informed decisions, but I am not a licensed financial planner and do not provide regulated investment advice. As a CPA, I am qualified to discuss personal tax planning, including strategies around tax-sheltered accounts like TFSAs, RRSPs, FHSAs, and RESPs. I'm also happy to share what I personally use and what I've seen work well for beginner investors as a starting point for your own research — but any specific investment decisions are yours to make, and I'd always encourage you to do your own due diligence or consult a licensed advisor before acting. I don't take on corporate tax clients but am happy to refer you to someone who does.
