1. Matchmaking Services & Dating Groups
1.1 Personal Safety & Responsibility
By signing up to our matchmaking service, you accept full responsibility for your safety when meeting individuals introduced to you. While we conduct basic vetting (e.g., screening applications), we do not conduct criminal background checks. You are strongly encouraged to take safety precautions such as meeting in public places and informing friends or family.
ConnectAsian accepts no liability for incidents or outcomes after introductions.
1.2 Your Due Diligence
You agree to exercise your own judgment when engaging with a match. You are solely responsible for verifying any information shared and making informed decisions regarding communication and meetings.
1.3 Matchmaking Expectations
We aim to connect you with high-quality matches aligned with your values and preferences. However, we do not guarantee any specific number of introductions or a successful romantic outcome.
If you reject three consecutive introductions without good reason, we reserve the right to pause your matchmaking service until you’re ready to actively participate.
1.4 Membership Fees & Cancellations
Commitment to Service
We are committed to delivering our service with reasonable care and skill. While we cannot guarantee the outcome of finding a compatible match, we do guarantee that your profile will be actively considered and that introductions will be sought in line with your stated preferences.
Service Commencement
The matchmaking service begins as soon as you complete your profile (or otherwise provide the information required for us to begin searching). From this point, work on your behalf has commenced, including research, database searching, and initial matchmaking preparation.
Cooling-Off Period
Under UK consumer law, you have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period to cancel most services. However, by completing your profile and allowing us to begin the matchmaking process within this period, you acknowledge and agree that you lose the right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 once the service has started.
Refunds
After the service has commenced, no refunds will be issued.
No partial refunds are given if you choose to withdraw from the process before the end of your agreed term.
Refunds will only be considered and only given at our discretion.
1.5 Match Introductions & Conduct
Once we’ve introduced you to a match, we encourage you to follow up respectfully and in a timely manner. Continued disrespect, ghosting, or abusive communication will result in termination of service without refund.
We may request feedback after matches to improve our service.
1.6 Data Privacy & Confidentiality
We only share limited profile data (e.g., first name, age range, bio) when making introductions. Both parties receive the same info.
You agree to:
Keep match details private and confidential
Not share screenshots, photos, or personal info of others
Not share any experiences with media or online unless you have explicit, written permission
We comply fully with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, and your data will only be processed under the lawful bases of:
Contractual necessity (e.g., to provide matchmaking services)
Legitimate interest (e.g., for safety or service improvement)
Consent (where applicable, e.g., marketing)

1.7 Third-Party Tools
We may use third-party platforms (e.g., Google Forms, WhatsApp, Stripe) to manage communication, billing, or data collection. These tools are used under GDPR-compliant contracts. Your data is never sold.
1.8 Your Responsibility for Removing Personal Data When Leaving Our Platforms
Remember, we are a small business with very limited resources. When you choose to leave any ConnectAsian platform or community space (including but no limited to, the WhatsApp and Facebook groups, you are responsible for removing your own personal data before exiting.
Because these platforms are operated and controlled by external providers, ConnectAsian is not the data controller for any personal data you submit or share within those services. As a result, we do not have the ability to fully access, manage, amend, or delete this information on your behalf.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Profile information
Posts, messages, or comments
Poll responses
Photos, videos, or any other contributions you have made that have any P.I.I. data that are attached to said platforms.
For the purposes of GDPR, the relevant third-party platform (e.g., Meta for WhatsApp and Facebook) is the data controller of any personal data processed within their services. Any GDPR rights you wish to exercise (access, rectification, erasure, etc.) in relation to that data must be directed to the platform in question.
We will always make reasonable efforts to operate in line with GDPR; however, you retain primary responsibility for managing or removing any personal data you have shared directly within these third-party platforms. If you still require our assistance, as a very small business, with very limited resources, we will charge a nominal fee to find and remove your data.
If you need help understanding how to delete your data, please refer to the platform’s own privacy settings or support resources, as they provide the most accurate and up-to-date guidance.
1.9 Event Discounts
Discounts may be offered to matchmaking members for some events. These are discretionary and not guaranteed.
2. Terms for Singles Events
2.1 Eligibility
By attending our events, you confirm you are legally single and genuinely seeking a long-term partner. Attending while married or in a relationship is strictly prohibited.
Dishonesty or misconduct may result in a permanent ban and public removal from the community.
2.2 Behaviour & Code of Conduct
You agree to be respectful, open-minded, and considerate. Any behaviour deemed offensive, inappropriate, or unsafe may result in immediate removal without refund.
We operate a zero-tolerance policy for harassment or abusive language.
2.3 Photography & Media Consent
To successfully run and promote ConnectAsian events, photography and videography are essential. Images and short videos captured during events help us showcase the quality, atmosphere, and community experience, enabling these events to continue and grow.
By attending a ConnectAsian event, you acknowledge that photography and videography may take place and may be used for marketing and promotional purposes across our website, social media channels, and partner platforms. Our lawful basis for this processing is legitimate interest under GDPR, as visual media is necessary for effective event promotion.
Opt-Out Procedure
If you do not wish to appear in any photographs or videos, you must inform the event organiser at least 48 hours before the event begins. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request, such as placing a discreet indicator on your badge or advising our media team.
Please note:
It remains your responsibility to avoid cameras and recording areas during the event. We cannot guarantee full exclusion from all footage.
Post-Event Media Removal
If you have not opted out with 48 hours’ notice and you are subsequently included in published content, ConnectAsian is not obligated to remove or edit that content.
Post-event edits or removal (where possible and reasonable) require considerable time and cost.
Therefore, any such request will incur a minimum administrative fee of £250, payable in advance.
We reserve the right to decline removal if doing so would compromise existing marketing campaigns or platform constraints.
By attending any ConnectAsian event, you agree to these terms.
2.4 Personal Safety at Events
We aim to create safe, welcoming environments. However, all attendees are responsible for their personal safety and well-being.
We do not conduct criminal background checks on attendees. You should meet new people in public areas and remain vigilant.
If you experience anything concerning, report it to an organiser immediately.
2.5 Liability Disclaimer
We are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or emotional distress arising before, during, or after an event. Any interactions or relationships are entered into at your own risk.
2.6 No Refunds for Misconduct
If you’re removed from an event or the community due to violating these terms, no refunds will be issued.
2.7 Updates to Terms
These Terms may be updated periodically. By using our services or attending events, you accept the most recent version.
