Everything in this book grows in one small London garden of about fifty square metres. Ten steps, corner to corner.
Sokol Peja was eight when his mother spent money she did not have on flowers her sons could not eat, and he has been gardening ever since - across Albania, balconies in three cities, and finally the garden behind his London home, where he now grows what people say cannot be grown here. Filmed with BBC Gardeners' World in July 2026, and followed on Instagram by the thousands he calls his flower family, he has written it all down for the first time.
Inside:
Where I come from, and why a garden is my medicine

"Please start. It doesn't matter if you have hundreds of plants, or tens, or five. Start something."
