I am so happy you are here. This course is your first step toward teaching your very first workshop in front of kids.
You do not need to start an entire business today, and you do not need to have everything figured out. You do not need a teaching degree or previous experience. You simply need a desire to help kids and the willingness to give teaching a try.
I believe the best way to find out if you love teaching kids life skills is to actually experience it. Start small, gather a few kids, teach your first workshop, and see how it feels.
And I believe one of the best places to start is at the table.
So much of life happens around the table. It is where conversations begin, friendships grow, memories are made, and kids learn how to connect with the people around them.
Dining skills are about so much more than knowing which fork to use or where the napkin goes. Kids learn how to have a conversation, listen to others, show respect, make someone feel welcome, and feel comfortable in different social settings.
They are learning confidence, communication, kindness, connection, and respect. These are skills they will use for the rest of their lives.
I created this course to make teaching your first workshop as simple as possible. You will receive the curriculum, lesson plans, scripts, activities, supply lists, and teaching guidance you need to get started.
You do not have to wonder what to teach or what to say because I have already created it for you. Your job is to take that first step, gather a small group of kids, and start teaching.
Your first workshop does not have to be big. You might teach five kids around a dining table, partner with a local restaurant, gather neighborhood families, or work with a homeschool group. The important thing is that you begin.
One workshop is enough to get started.
I want you to experience what it feels like to stand in front of kids and teach them something that can make a real difference in their lives.
You may watch a shy child begin to speak up. You may see a child proudly set a table, join a conversation, or feel more comfortable eating with other people. You will get to see firsthand how much these simple skills can change the way a child feels.
You may also discover something about yourself.
You may finish your first workshop and think, “I really loved doing that. I want to do it again.”
Maybe you teach another workshop, and then another. Maybe you begin earning extra income from your classes. Maybe you realize that you have found meaningful work that fits into your life.
And maybe this first Dining Skills workshop becomes the beginning of something much bigger.
Maybe it leads you to becoming a Life Skills Coach for Kids and building a business of your own.
You do not have to decide any of that today. For now, your goal is simply to get started.
In today’s busy world, family meals can be rushed and screens are everywhere. Kids do not always have the same opportunities to practice conversation, manners, listening, and social skills around the table.
We have an opportunity to bring these important skills back and give kids the confidence to feel comfortable wherever life takes them.
It can begin with one table, one workshop, and one group of kids.
And it can begin with you.
As a bonus, your course also includes a free one-hour live Zoom training with me.
During our time together, I will help you go through the course, answer your questions, and talk about how you can get your first workshop started. My goal is to help you feel prepared and excited to get in front of your first group of kids.
I have spent more than 20 years teaching life skills to children, and I am excited to help you take your first step.
Start small. Start teaching. Start at the table.
You never know where your first workshop might lead.
Warmly,
Denise
