If your to-do list is actually four lists spread across two apps and the back of a receipt, and none of them tell you what to do first, this planner is for you. Most days I end up doing whatever is loudest, and by 9pm the one thing that really mattered still hasn't happened.
This daily page starts with a brain dump, so everything comes out of your head before you try to plan anything. Then you write down the one thing that has to happen today, and a top three if there's room. The time blocks are loose (morning, midday, afternoon, evening, and night), so a meeting that runs long doesn't ruin the whole page. The done list is my favorite part, because it catches all the things you did that never made it onto a list. There's also a weekly overview, a full-page brain dump with boxes to sort things into what to do, schedule, or let go, and a page for breaking down the task you keep putting off into small steps, starting with one that takes two minutes.
What's inside:
A daily page with a brain dump, "if I only do one thing today," a top three, loose time blocks, a done list, and a quick check for water, meds or vitamins, and meals
A weekly overview with a box for the things that can wait until next week
A full-page brain dump with do, schedule, and let go boxes
A "Break It Down" page with room for eight small steps and a time guess for each
A US Letter PDF that you can print as many times as you like
I designed it as a simple paper planner around how a busy day tends to go, and it isn't meant to diagnose or treat anything. Print a few pages tonight, and tomorrow can start with the list already out of your head.
