Every year I promise something small and fun every night until Christmas, and every year I end up standing in the kitchen at 8:47pm trying to invent an activity while someone asks if it's time yet.
These 24 cards make the decisions ahead of time. Each one has one simple thing to do together on a regular weeknight, like hot cocoa in pajamas, building a blanket fort, or driving around to rate the neighborhood lights. Most of them use things you already have at home, and none of them need a trip to the craft store. There's also a page of blank cards, so you can write in the school concert or the night everyone is too tired and the activity is a movie on the couch. Print and cut them once, tuck them into an envelope or an advent calendar, and pull one each night.
What's inside:
24 activity cards, one for each night from December 1 to 24
A page of blank cards to fill in with your own plans, which you can print as often as you need
Four cards per page, with cut lines
A cover page for the envelope or box
US Letter and A4 PDFs, plus a low-ink version with a white background
December 1 is closer than it feels. If you print them this weekend, the first card will be ready when the month starts.
