Last updated: October 10, 2026
PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THIS WEBSITE OR PURCHASING ANY PRODUCT OR SERVICE. SECTIONS 9 THROUGH 11 (COACHING DISCLAIMER, YOUR DECISIONS AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND NO GUARANTEES), SECTION 17 (LIMITATION OF LIABILITY) AND SECTION 19 (DISPUTES) LIMIT YOUR RIGHTS.
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the websites operated by Float, LLC (“Float,” the “Company,” “we,” “us” or “our”), including choosetofloat.com and our Stan Store pages (together, the “Site”), and every product and service we offer, including one-on-one coaching sessions, calls, coaching programs (including the FLOAT Framework), workbooks, worksheets, digital products and other materials (together, the “Services”).
By using the Site, purchasing or booking any Service, or checking a box agreeing to these Terms, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or the Services. These Terms replace any earlier terms between you and the Company.
ELIGIBILITY
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase or use the Services. By purchasing, you confirm that you are 18 or older and able to enter into a binding agreement.
OWNERSHIP OF CONTENT AND YOUR LICENSE TO USE IT
The Site and all content, videos, training materials, workbooks, worksheets, frameworks (including the FLOAT Framework), products, graphics, text, audio, photos, documents, code and other materials made available by us, as well as their look and feel (together, the “Content”), are the property of the Company or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, the Company grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access and use the Content solely for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, distribute, sell, resell, share, modify, create derivative works from, or use any Content for public or commercial purposes (including using it to coach or teach others) without the Company’s express written permission. Unauthorized use may violate copyright, trademark and other laws and may result in monetary damages and penalties.
All trade names, trademarks, logos, images and biographical information of people used in the Content are the property of, or used with permission by, the Company. Nothing in these Terms grants you any license to use any trademark or other proprietary information without the express written consent of the Company or the third-party owner.
COPYRIGHT AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY COMPLAINTS
The Company respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe your work has been reproduced on the Site or in any Content in a way that infringes your rights, email chris@choosetofloat.com with your name and contact information, a description of your work and how it is being infringed, any relevant copyright or trademark registration information, the location or URL of the material, and any other relevant information. The Company may, but is not obligated to, remove any content it determines in its sole discretion to be unlawful, offensive, infringing or in violation of these Terms.
ACCURACY OF INFORMATION
The Company uses reasonable efforts to keep the information on the Site accurate and up to date, but makes no warranties or representations as to its accuracy or completeness and assumes no liability for any errors or omissions.
ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS
By purchasing, registering or providing your email address, you consent to receive notices, agreements, disclosures, receipts, scheduling information and other communications from the Company electronically, including by email. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time; transactional and service emails will still be sent.
FEEDBACK AND SUBMISSIONS
If you send the Company comments, suggestions or ideas about the Site or the Services (“Feedback”), you agree the Company may use that Feedback for any purpose, without obligation or compensation to you. This section does not apply to what you share during coaching sessions or in completed workbooks and worksheets, which is covered by Section 12 (Confidentiality).
SECURITY
The Company uses commercially reasonable efforts to restrict unauthorized access to its data and files. However, no system is entirely secure, and you acknowledge that an unauthorized third party may be able to access, view, copy, modify or distribute data you provide. Use of the Site is at your own risk.
PRIVACY
The Company will not sell your personal information. We will not intentionally disclose personally identifying information about you to third parties except as described in Section 12, as needed to provide the Services (for example, payment processing and scheduling), or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or necessary to enforce these Terms.
NATURE OF COACHING SERVICES
Coaching is a collaborative process designed to help you clarify your goals, explore options and take action. You understand and agree that:
(a) Coaching is NOT therapy, counseling, psychotherapy or any form of mental health or medical treatment, and it is not a substitute for those services.
(b) The Company and its coach are NOT acting as, and are not licensed as, a therapist, psychologist, counselor, physician, financial advisor, financial planner, investment advisor, broker, accountant, tax professional, attorney, or employment or recruiting agent.
(c) Nothing provided through the Services, including any discussion, worksheet, calculator or tool related to budgets, runway, savings, income, debt, investments, careers, job offers, businesses, side hustles, contracts or taxes, is financial, investment, tax, legal, medical or mental health advice. Tools such as the runway calculator and possibility scorecard are planning exercises based on information you provide; they are not predictions or guarantees.
(d) You agree to consult appropriately licensed professionals before making any financial, legal, tax, medical or mental health decision.
(e) The coach may share personal experiences, stories, examples and perspectives. These are shared for illustration only and are not recommendations that you take the same or any particular action.
YOUR DECISIONS AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK
(a) You are solely responsible for your own decisions, actions, choices and results before, during and after the Services. This includes, without limitation, any decision to stay in, leave, quit, change or negotiate a job or career; to start, continue or stop a business or side hustle; to spend, save, borrow, lend or invest money; to relocate; and how you manage your finances, health, relationships and responsibilities.
(b) The coach does not make decisions for you and does not direct, instruct or advise you to take any specific action, including leaving your job. Any questions asked, options explored, exercises completed or perspectives shared are intended to help you think for yourself. Whether and how you act on them is entirely your choice.
(c) You understand that life and career changes carry risk, including but not limited to loss of employment, loss of income or benefits, financial hardship, debt, loss of housing, business failure and emotional distress. You knowingly and voluntarily assume all such risks.
(d) To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless the Company, its owner(s), coaches, employees, contractors and agents from any and all claims, losses, damages and liabilities arising out of or related to your decisions or actions, or your reliance on anything discussed or provided through the Services.
NO GUARANTEES; RESULTS AND TESTIMONIALS
The Company does not promise or guarantee any particular outcome from the Services, including any job, promotion, raise, income, business success, savings level or financial result. Your results depend on many factors outside the Company’s control, including your circumstances, decisions, effort, skills, finances, the economy and the job market. Testimonials, examples and personal stories (including the coach’s own experiences) reflect individual experiences, are not typical, and are not a promise that you will achieve the same or similar results.
CONFIDENTIALITY
The Company will keep confidential the personal information you share during coaching sessions and in completed workbooks and worksheets, except: (a) with your permission; (b) if we believe in good faith that you or someone else is at risk of serious harm; or (c) if disclosure is required by law, court order or legal process. We may use general, de-identified insights from coaching (with nothing that could identify you) to improve our Services and content.
Sessions will not be recorded by the Company without your permission, and you agree not to record any session without the Company’s permission.
MENTAL HEALTH AND EMERGENCIES
The Services are not designed for people in crisis. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or thoughts of harming yourself or others, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, US) or call 911 immediately. You agree to tell the coach if you are currently experiencing a mental health condition that could affect your participation. The coach may pause or end coaching and recommend other professional support if the coach believes in good faith that coaching is not appropriate for you. If the Company ends coaching under this section for reasons other than your breach of these Terms, the Company will refund the price of any unused, prepaid sessions.
SCHEDULING, RESCHEDULING, NO-SHOWS AND EXPIRATION
(a) You are responsible for scheduling your sessions using the booking link provided.
(b) To reschedule or cancel a session, you must give at least 24 hours’ notice by email to chris@choosetofloat.com with the subject line “RESCHEDULE - [date and time of your session],” or through the booking link if available.
(c) If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, or do not attend a scheduled session (a “no-show”), the session is forfeited and counts as used. If you arrive late, the session will still end at its scheduled time.
(d) Coaching packages, including the FLOAT Framework, must be used within 12 weeks of the purchase date unless the Company agrees otherwise in writing. Sessions not used within that time expire and are forfeited.
(e) If the Company needs to reschedule a session, it will give you as much notice as reasonably possible and offer a new time. Sessions rescheduled by the Company are not forfeited.
PAYMENT, PRICING AND NO REFUNDS
(a) You agree to pay all fees for the Services you purchase and to provide a valid payment method.
(b) ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Due to the nature of coaching services and digital products, NO REFUNDS are offered for any purchase, including coaching sessions, coaching packages, calls, workbooks and digital products, and including unused or forfeited sessions, partial use, or a change of mind, except as stated in Section 13 or as required by law.
(c) Prices may change at any time. Promotional or launch pricing is valid only for the period stated, and the Company does not provide price protection or refunds in the event of a later price reduction or promotion.
(d) If a digital product becomes unavailable after purchase but before delivery, or technical problems prevent or unreasonably delay delivery, your sole remedy is replacement or a refund of the price paid, as determined by the Company.
(e) If you have a concern about a charge, you agree to contact the Company first at chris@choosetofloat.com so we can try to resolve it. Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute for Services that were provided or made available under these Terms is a breach of these Terms, and the Company may provide these Terms and your agreement to them to the payment processor.
DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
THE SITE, THE CONTENT AND THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE COMPANY DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE OR CONTENT WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT THE SERVICES WILL MEET YOUR NEEDS OR EXPECTATIONS. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THESE EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
(a) TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COMPANY, ITS OWNER(S), COACHES, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, RELIANCE, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF EMPLOYMENT, INCOME, WAGES, PROFITS, REVENUE, SAVINGS, HOUSING, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, DATA OR GOODWILL, OR EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SITE, THE CONTENT, THE SERVICES OR ANY DECISION YOU MAKE, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STATUTE OR ANY OTHER THEORY, AND EVEN IF THE COMPANY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
(b) TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE COMPANY’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS, THE SITE OR THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO THE COMPANY FOR THE SERVICES GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.
(c) Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limitations may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company and its owner(s), coaches, employees, contractors and agents from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or related to: (i) your breach of these Terms; (ii) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party; (iii) any content you post or share through the Site; (iv) your use of the Site or the Services; and (v) any decision you make or action you take in connection with the Services. The Company may assume the exclusive defense of any such claim, and you agree to cooperate as reasonably requested.
DISPUTES; GOVERNING LAW
(a) Informal resolution first. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact the Company at chris@choosetofloat.com, describe the issue, and give the Company 30 days to try to resolve it informally.
(b) Governing law and venue. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that is not resolved informally shall be brought exclusively in the state courts located in Adams County, Colorado, or the federal courts for the District of Colorado, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Either party may bring an eligible claim in small claims court.
(c) Individual claims only. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to bring claims only in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative action.
(d) Time limit. To the fullest extent permitted by law, any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services must be filed within one (1) year after the claim arose, or it is permanently barred.
(e) Jury waiver. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AND THE COMPANY EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The Services may rely on third-party providers, such as Stan Store, Stripe, Zoom and Google Calendar. The Company is not responsible for performance or service problems caused by any third-party website or service provider, and any such problem is governed by your agreement with that provider.
SUSPENSION AND REFUSAL OF SERVICE
The Company may refuse service to anyone, and may limit, suspend or end your access to the Site, Content or Services if it determines that you have violated these Terms or behaved in an abusive, threatening or inappropriate manner. In that case, no refund is owed except as required by law.
GENERAL
(a) Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unlawful, void or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted, and the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
(b) Entire agreement. These Terms, together with any written agreement signed by you and the Company, are the entire agreement between you and the Company regarding the Site and the Services.
(c) No waiver. The Company’s failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of its right to do so later.
(d) Survival. Sections 2, 9 through 12, and 15 through 19 survive the end of your use of the Services.
(e) Benefit. These Terms are for the benefit of the Company and its affiliates, licensors and content providers, each of whom may enforce them.
(f) Changes. The Company may update these Terms from time to time by posting a revised version with a new “Last updated” date. The version in effect when you make a purchase applies to that purchase. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
