A Cacao Ceremony aka Maltyox Method in La Tuna Canyon

Sunday, October 25th · 11am · La Tuna Canyon, Los Angeles

As we get closer to the thinning of the veils, we gather on one acre of garden to honor the ones who came before us.

Only max 30 seats.

THE DAY ITSELF

October 25th is 3 Ajmak in the Mayan sacred calendar. Ajmak is the day of forgiveness, the day of turning inward and looking honestly at what we carry so we can finally set it down.

There is no more perfect day to sit with our ancestors. Because honoring them is not only remembering them. It is forgiving them. We must forgive those who came before us for their transgressions in order to heal the wounds still living in our lineage.

That is the work we are being invited into, and the calendar is holding the door open.

THE LAND

This is one acre in La Tuna Canyon, stewarded by a beautiful woman with Mexican roots who has poured years into this land. It's rare enough that it's been featured in magazines.

Ninety fruiting olive trees. Wild nopal. Sunflowers, monkey flowers, lavender and sage.

You will feel the difference the moment you walk in. This is not a studio with a candle lit in the corner. This is living land, tended by hands that know what they're doing.

WHAT WE'LL DO TOGETHER

Ceremonial Mayan Cacao
We open with cacao, prepared and served in ceremony. She softens what we've been holding and opens the heart so the work can actually land.

Meditation
We get still. This is where the forgiveness of 3 Ajmak does its work, and where your ancestors get a chance to be felt.

Movement
We move what the body has been storing. Grief lives in the hips, the chest, the throat. We give it somewhere to go.

This is the Maltyox method: cacao, meditation and movement, held together.

WHAT TO BRING

Bring their names and or photos. Bring a small offering like flowers for the altar if you have one or your special items to charge on the altar.

Bring your whole heart. Come ready to release what no longer serves you, and to make space for gratitude for this beautiful life we get to live, because they lived first.

WHO THIS IS FOR

You've been carrying something that isn't yours. A pattern, a silence, a story that started generations before you were born.

You've felt your people close lately and you don't quite know what to do with it.

You want to honor Día de los Muertos in a way that's real.
