If your neck aches by the afternoon, there’s a knot between your shoulder blades that never quite goes, or you’ve caught yourself in a mirror and thought “when did I start standing like that?”, this is for you.
Rounded shoulders and a head that drifts forward are the posture I see most in my clinic. After sixteen years as a chiropractor, I can tell you that most people don’t need anything complicated to feel better. They need the right few movements, done little and often.
How it works
Ten minutes a day: a one-minute warm-up, then five moves. You repeat the same routine for a week, so by day three you won’t even need to look.
Week 1, Wake Up: loosen a tight chest and neck. No equipment.
Week 2, Open Up: free the stiff upper back that pulls your shoulders forward.
Week 3, Switch On: wake up the muscles between your shoulder blades.
Week 4, Stand Strong: build the strength that keeps you upright without thinking about it.

What you’ll need
Nothing for Week 1. After that, a foam roller, a mini resistance band and a massage ball (a tennis ball works too).
This is a downloadable PDF for you to keep. It’s gentle and made for everyday people, but if you have pain spreading down an arm or leg, numbness, or a diagnosed spinal condition, please get assessed first.
