I’d like to take a moment to explain why I’ve written this plan. After losing 3 stone / 21kg over 700 days through a calorie deficit, Couch to 5K, weight training, and simply walking more, I was constantly asked the same question: how did you actually do it?
This guide is my answer. Not a quick fix, not a fad - but a realistic, sustainable way of creating change that actually lasts.
From 2020 to 2024, life looked very different for us. We were working 14-hour days building our business, and our health took a back seat. Breakfast was usually just coffee, lunch was whatever was quick and convenient, often something high-calorie, no protein, such as a jacket potato or a sandwich, and by the evening, we were too exhausted to cook. Takeaways and ready meals became the norm. Weekends were about escaping: alcohol, meals out, and then spending Sundays nursing a hangover, only to repeat it all again.
It wasn’t until we started thinking about having a family, and were told we needed to lower our BMI to be considered for IVF, that we realised something had to change. Our journey since then has reached millions, with our transformation video gaining over 130 million views!
But the truth behind it is simple: consistency. We changed our habits together. We stopped relying on convenience and started cooking from scratch. We batch-cooked, filled our freezer with high-protein, nourishing meals, and began to actually enjoy the food we were eating. We made movement part of our everyday lives, from 10-minute walks to long weekend walks with our dog. Using that time to talk, reset, and reconnect. Slowly, our lifestyle shifted from one built around convenience and work to one built around health, routine, and feeling good.
More recently, life took an unexpected turn, and after experiencing another miscarriage, I found myself slipping out of that routine. In just 10 weeks, I regained 12lbs while pregnant and recovering from surgery, and felt disconnected from the habits that once made me feel strong, energised, and happy.
This 12-week plan has come from that place, not from perfection, but from starting again. It’s a guide for getting back into rhythm, losing 1–2lbs a week in a sustainable way, and rebuilding habits that you can return to time and time again. Because life will always have its ups and downs, and this isn’t about being perfect, it’s about having something to come back to when you’re ready to reset, refocus, and feel like yourself again.
