The problem

Every year it happens the same way.

Hiring slows down around Thanksgiving. Recruiters go quiet. Everyone decides they will "start prepping after the holidays."

Then January hits. Roles open up all at once. Recruiters start calling. And you are trying to relearn graphs, sketch a system design and remember your best stories, all while interviews are already on the calendar.

I have been on both sides of that table. As an engineer and as a Principal at Oracle, after years at Microsoft and Amazon, I have seen strong engineers get passed over. Not because they could not do the job. Because they were rusty, unprepared, or telling their story in a way that undersold them.

Before I coached anyone, I spent my career building software at Amazon, Microsoft and Oracle, where I became a Principal. Along the way I learned that doing the job well and interviewing well are two different skills, and the second one gets rusty fast. Today I coach software and AI engineers into US roles, and helping good engineers close that gap is the work I care about most. I built this program so you can close it in November and December, before the January rush, not in the middle of it.

November and December are the quiet months. Most people spend them waiting. This program is for the engineers who want to spend them getting ready, so that when January comes, you are not cramming. You are interviewing.

Who this is for

  • You are a software or AI engineer with at least 3 years of US industry experience.

  • You plan to interview in January, February or March 2027.

  • You are employed and want your next step up, or you were laid off and want to come back stronger.

  • You know your stuff on the job, but interviews feel like a different sport.

  • You can attend live classes on Saturdays at 10 AM ET and Tuesdays at 8 PM ET, and put in about 6 to 8 hours a week in total.

  • You want structure, accountability and honest feedback, not another course you never finish.

Who this is not for

  • New grads, bootcamp students, or anyone with less than 3 years of US industry experience.

  • Anyone looking for a guaranteed job or a shortcut. I cannot promise an offer, and I will not.

  • People who want recorded videos to watch "someday." This is live and it works when you show up.

  • Anyone who cannot attend most of the Saturday 10 AM ET and Tuesday 8 PM ET classes.

What you get

  • 2 live classes a week

  • Saturdays at 10 AM ET: Coding (DSA) and System Design

  • Tuesdays at 8 PM ET: Behavioral interviews and Job search strategy

  • 2 mock interviews, 1:1 with me, scheduled around your availability, with written feedback.

  • A resume rewrite, reviewed line by line for your target level.

  • A private Slack community with the other engineers in your group.

  • Your personal hiring plan for January: target companies, roles, timeline and what to practice next.

  • Bonus: 6 months of TraceCareer, including the US software and AI jobs database.

The 8 weeks

Each week starts with the Saturday class (coding and system design) and continues with the Tuesday class (behavioral and strategy).

Week 1: Sat Nov 7 and Tue Nov 10. Baseline and plan

Sat: Coding and system design diagnostic, so you know honestly where you stand. Coding focus: arrays, hashing and two pointers.

Tue: Set your target role and level, start your story bank, and begin your resume intake.

Week 2: Sat Nov 14 and Tue Nov 17. Patterns and fundamentals

Sat: Sliding window, binary search and stacks. System design: the framework you will use in every round, from requirements to tradeoffs.

Tue: How to tell a story in 2 minutes with a clear result. Your first 3 stories, workshopped live.

Week 3: Sat Nov 21 and Tue Nov 24. Trees, graphs and your resume

Sat: Trees, BFS and DFS. System design: a classic warm-up design, step by step.

Tue: Your resume rewrite is delivered this week. We cover how to read a job description and position your experience for the level you want.

Note: Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov 26. The Tuesday class runs as normal, and there is no homework over the holiday.

Week 4: Sat Nov 28 and Tue Dec 1. Thanksgiving weekend catch-up, then back to full speed

Sat (Thanksgiving weekend): A lighter catch-up and practice class. We review weeks 1 to 3, work through the problems people are stuck on, and reset for the second half.

Tue: Behavioral: conflict, failure and leadership stories. Mock interview #1 is scheduled 1:1 around this point.

Week 5: Sat Dec 5 and Tue Dec 8. Harder problems and senior signals

Sat: Heaps, intervals and an intro to dynamic programming. System design: caching, databases and data modeling.

Tue: What senior and staff interviewers are listening for. Building your target company list using TraceCareer.

Week 6: Sat Dec 12 and Tue Dec 15. Scale and outreach

Sat: System design deep dive: scaling, queues, consistency and, for AI engineers, designing ML and LLM-backed systems.

Tue: Referrals, recruiter outreach and how to time your applications for January.

Week 7: Sat Dec 19 and Tue Dec 22. Timed practice

Sat: Mixed, timed coding and system design practice under real interview conditions, plus handling pushback on tradeoffs.

Tue: Your weakest areas, with targeted practice. Mock interview #2 is scheduled 1:1 around this point.

Week 8: Sat Dec 26 and Tue Dec 29. Your January hiring plan

Sat (day after Christmas): A lighter final practice and review class.

Tue: We put it all together. Your personal hiring plan: target companies, application calendar, prep routine for the first weeks of January, and how to handle offers and negotiation when they come.

Mock interviews

You get 2 mock interviews, 1:1 with me, scheduled around your availability. They are run the way real loops are run: timed, realistic and a little uncomfortable.

After each mock you get written feedback on what went well, what would have cost you the offer, and exactly what to practice next. The first mock, around the middle of the program, shows you where you stand. The second, near the end, shows you how far you have come.

Bonus: 6 months of TraceCareer

Every seat includes a 6-month Trace Career subscription (tracecareer.com). It includes my database of US software and AI jobs, so when hiring reopens you are not starting your search from a blank page.

We use it in the program to build your target list and your January application plan, and you keep access through the first months of 2027 hiring.

Pricing

Total Cost: $3,000, paid upfront

Seats are capped at 20 so every person gets real attention.

FAQ

Why 3+ years of US experience?

The program is built for mid-level, senior and staff interviews in the US market. Keeping the group at a similar level means the classes go deeper and nobody is held back or left behind.

When are the classes?

Saturdays at 10 AM ET and Tuesdays at 8 PM ET, from Saturday, Nov 7 to Tuesday, Dec 29, 2026. On the West Coast that is 7 AM PT on Saturdays and 5 PM PT on Tuesdays.

What if I miss a class?

Life happens, especially in December. The program works best live, so please only enroll if you can make most classes. Your 1:1 mock interviews are scheduled around your availability.

How much time do I need each week?

About 10 to 15 hours, including the two live classes and practice on your own. Thanksgiving weekend and the week of Christmas are lighter.

I was laid off. Is this for me?

Yes, if you have 3+ years of US experience. Many people use a layoff to reset and come back stronger. This gives that time structure.

I am an AI or ML engineer. Is the content relevant?

Yes. Coding and behavioral rounds are mostly the same. In system design we cover ML and LLM-backed systems, and your mocks and hiring plan are tailored to your target role.

What is the refund policy?

You can drop out for a full refund until Sunday, Nov 15, 2026, no matter when you join. After that, the program is non-refundable.

Do you guarantee I will get a job?

No. I do not promise job outcomes. What you will get is a clear plan, real practice, honest feedback and a head start before January.
