Is your child still waking for milk every couple of hours? Are you touched out, exhausted, and wondering if there’s a way to cut down night feeds that doesn’t involve leaving them to cry?

There is. And this guide walks you through it, step by step.

Night weaning isn’t one-size-fits-all. A toddler who feeds all night needs a different plan from a baby who wakes for one predictable bottle at 2am. So rather than handing you one rigid method, we give you options, and help you choose the one that fits your child’s temperament, your set-up and your goals. Whether you want to stop night feeds completely or just reduce them, you’ll find a plan that works for your family.

What’s inside

  • Getting ready: when to start (and when to wait), daytime boundaries, getting a partner involved, and whether to change where your child sleeps

  • The bedtime feed: how to move away from feeding to sleep, whether you’re on your own or have help

  • Breastfeeding: habit stacking, plus four approaches (one feed at a time, following the clock, timed feeds, and all at once), each with a step-by-step plan

  • Bottle feeding: how to make feeds comfortable first (positions, teats and avoiding swallowed air), then four approaches to reducing bottles

  • What to expect: the wobbles, the clingy days, and why some upset isn’t the same as cry it out

  • Printable sleep diary and night weaning tracker, so you can see progress on the nights it doesn’t feel like there is any

  • Safety first: safe sleep reminders, and clear guidance on when to check in with your GP or health visitor before you start

Who it’s for
Parents of children aged 12 months and over who want to night wean gently, from the breast or the bottle. If your baby is younger, you can still use it to reduce night feeds gradually and get ready for later.

Why this guide?
Between us, Emily, Molly and Pip have supported hundreds of families through night weaning one-to-one (and it’s one of Molly’s specialities). We’ve taken everything that works in those sessions and put it into a guide you can read at your own pace and turn into your own plan. It’s fully referenced, and there’s no sleep training anywhere in it.

Format: a 34-page PDF that lands in your inbox straight away, ready to read on your phone or print.

P.S. If you’d rather have one of us in your corner while you do this, book a free Best Fit call and we’ll talk you through your options.

This is amazing. We followed the steps and slowly reduced one oz at time and had amazing progress. Eating more in the day and sleeping longer stretches. it hasn't been as horrendous as expected! Now for the last oz!

I wanted to wait for my daughter to night wean herself but the wake ups became hourly and to the point where even the boob wouldn't settle her so I thought I would give it a go! I followed some advice from your guide and introduced daytime boundaries. We went from constant wakes up to 1 to 2 times a night and she is staying in bed the majority of the night! She still feeds around 4/5am but I can handle that!
