ABOUT:
This is for access to my Get to Know You Dice Activity. This is another one of my favorite back-to-school activities! Students work in small groups, with each table receiving a prompt card featuring a variety of questions. After rolling a die, the number they land on (1–6) determines which question they answer and share with their group.
I’ve found that students are much more comfortable opening up in a small-group setting than speaking in front of the entire class. That’s why this activity is one of my favorites to use at the beginning of the school year. It helps students get to know one another, build connections, and gain confidence in sharing.
While this activity was designed with middle school students in mind, it can be easily adapted for upper elementary or high school classrooms.
