Train beside Jeff David on real pool leak detection jobs in Palm Beach County, Florida.
Nothing is staged.
Nothing is set up in advance.
You will see exactly how we think through a leak detection job from the moment we greet the customer to the moment we explain the findings.
This is not a classroom demonstration where the instructor already knows where the leak is.
These are real customers, real pools, real problems, and real decisions.
Some jobs may be simple.
Some may be difficult.
A pool may have one leak, several leaks, an equipment problem, a plumbing problem, or no active leak that can be confirmed that day.
That is what real leak detection looks like.
You will see how we break the pool down into parts, test in a logical sequence, rule out false leads, and make decisions based on the evidence.
That process is the H.U.N.T.E.R. Method.
No matter what types of jobs we encounter during your ride-along, you will receive training in the core skills every leak locator needs.
You will learn:
How to use a hydrophone
How to listen for plumbing and structural leaks
How to isolate pool plumbing lines
How to perform pressure testing
How to use plugs, test manifolds, and pressure equipment
How to perform dye testing
How to use different dye-testing techniques around common leak points
How to break a pool into sections for testing
How to identify the common leak points in a pool
How to test skimmers, lights, drains, returns, fittings, plumbing, shell areas, and equipment
How to use electronic leak detection equipment
How to follow a logical testing sequence instead of guessing
How to decide what should be tested next
How to document your findings
How to explain your findings to the customer
You will also receive a full walk-through of the equipment carried on our trucks.
I will explain what the equipment does, when we use it, and where it fits into the leak detection process.
You will have the opportunity to get hands-on experience with:
Pressure testing equipment
Hydrophones
Electronic listening equipment
Dye testing tools
Plugs and isolation equipment
Common leak detection tools used in the field
Leak detection is more than finding a hole.
You will see how we handle the entire job, including:
Greeting the customer
Gathering the history of the leak
Asking the right questions
Inspecting the pool and equipment
Planning the testing sequence
Explaining the process to the customer
Performing the testing
Documenting the evidence
Reporting the findings
Recommending the next step
The goal is not to teach you how to randomly use tools.
The goal is to teach you how to think like a leak locator.
This program also includes a private review of your business.
I will evaluate your website, online presence, local competition, and the leak detection market in your area.
We will look at:
How your website presents your services
What may be hurting your credibility or conversions
How easy it is for customers to understand what you do
How your competitors are positioning themselves
What services your competitors are promoting
Where you may have an advantage
Where your market may have gaps
