I have found that using a thin layer of rubber base to the underneath of the tip to adhere to the natural nail gives long lasting adhesion with great retention. I do not apply base to the natural nail and curing before I apply the tip. It is an unneeded step for me. As long as you prep the nail properly, make sure the tip fits properly (not to small), and use a thin layer of the rubber base, you should have not problems with retention.
