Your resume got you hired. That doesn't mean it's ready for law school.

A job resume is built to win one position. A law school résumé has a different job: to clearly show your education, experience, accomplishments and contributions to an admissions reader.

You don't need to have worked in a law firm, held a legal internship or followed a traditional pre-law path. You need to make your actual contributions visible. This mini-course shows you how.

Here's how it works: five steps for every experience:

  • Experience: inventory your roles, projects, challenges and accomplishments before you edit anything

  • Action: describe what you personally did, decided, improved or created

  • Skill: let your actions show abilities like analysis, communication and judgment

  • Evidence: support each bullet with a specific example, scope or outcome you can verify

  • Present: turn it all into concise, accurate bullets in a clear, consistent document

What's inside

  • 25–30 minutes of short video lessons

  • A fillable PDF workbook that you complete as you go (plus a print-friendly version)

  • A simple bullet formula, with before-and-after examples from healthcare, education, business, government and other fields

  • A section-by-section structure planner and a final résumé review checklist

Bonus: Free access to the Career → JD Community

Applying to law school while working full time can feel isolating. Most advice is written for college seniors, and most of the people around you aren’t going through this.

When you enroll, you’ll get an invitation to Career → JD | The Working Professional’s Law School Application Community, a free private Facebook group for career changers, non-traditional applicants and working professionals on the road to law school.

Inside the community, you can:

  • Ask questions as you work through your course

  • Connect with other applicants balancing jobs, families and full lives

  • Get admissions insights from me, drawn from 10+ years in law school admissions

  • Share wins, drafts-in-progress and “aha” moments with people who get it

You'll walk away with

  • An organized inventory of everything worth considering

  • Stronger résumé bullets that show your contributions and transferable skills

  • A résumé draft plan with the sections, order and priorities that fit your background

Accurate beats impressive. This course will never ask you to invent metrics or inflate your role. Every bullet you write should be something you could explain in detail, because your résumé is a factual record.

Who's teaching

As Ms. Law School Guru. I've worked in law school admissions for more than 10 years, including at national and regionally law schools, and I review more than 700 law school applications every year. I built this course for applicants whose experience doesn't fit the traditional pre-law mold, because that experience is often their greatest asset.

A quick note: this course helps you make thoughtful, informed decisions about your application. No course can guarantee admission, and requirements vary by school, so always follow each school's instructions.

Questions

How long does it take? About 25–30 minutes of lessons, plus time for the workbook. The goal is for you to finish in one sitting.

Do I need to have anything written already? No. You only need to be willing to reflect on your experience and make some decisions.

I graduated years ago. Is this still for me? Yes. It was built for applicants with work experience.

What's your refund policy? Because these products provide digital educational content and access to materials that may be delivered or accessed electronically, I do not offer refunds, exchanges, or cancellations after purchase, including for change of mind, accidental purchase, failure to complete the course, or dissatisfaction with the content.
