What to Expect in Your 30-Minute Parent Empowerment Session

Our 30-minute consultation is tailored for parents seeking targeted advice and effective strategies to support their child's communication and language development. Here's a breakdown of what each session will cover:

1. Preparation:

• Before the session, please ensure you have a quiet space free from distractions.

• Have your child present if possible (they don't have to be present or engage with us directly, this is so you can practice the return demonstration), as this allows for real-time interaction and guidance.

• Prepare any additional questions or concerns, etc., you might have about your child’s development.

• We are parents, too! We understand your little one may not participate or engage the entire time- or at all! It's okay!

2. Session Breakdown:

• Introduction (5 minutes):

  • Brief introductions. Tell us about yourself and your child!

  • Quick assessment of your child's current communication abilities and developmental stage.

• Strategy Introduction and Demonstration (10 minutes):

  • Our expert will share tailored strategies and techniques based on the developmental information provided.

  • Live demonstration of strategies to ensure you understand how to apply them effectively.

• Parent Practice and Interactive Guidance (10 minutes):

  • You will have the opportunity to practice the introduced strategies with your child during the call.

  • Immediate feedback and adjustments will be provided to ensure you feel confident continuing these practices.

• Q&A and Wrap-Up (5 minutes):

  • Open floor for any questions you might have or clarifications needed.

  • Summary of key points discussed and additional resources that may benefit your child’s ongoing development.

3. Post-Session Support:

• At the end of the session, you will receive an email with summarized strategies, helpful tips, and links to resources for further learning.

• Recommendations for toys and tools that can aid in reinforcing the strategies covered in the session.

• You can schedule a follow up appointment for a check in, additional questions, etc.

4. Items to Have Ready (optional but beneficial):

• Any toys or items your child is currently interested in that can be used during the practice strategies.

• A list of any observations or concerns about your child's interaction with family or peers.

What This Session Does Not Include

Our 30-minute Parent Empowerment Session is designed to provide support and strategies for your child’s communication and language development. However, there are specific areas that our session does not cover, which include:

• Diagnostic Evaluations:

  • This session does not serve as a diagnostic evaluation. We do not diagnose any conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), during these consultations.

• Medical or Behavioral Assessments:

  • Our experts provide advice based on observed communication behaviors and parent reports but do not perform in-depth medical, psychological, or behavioral assessments.

• Formal Testing:

  • There will be no formal testing or standardized assessments conducted. Our session focuses solely on observational advice and practical strategy sharing.

• Legal Documentation:

  • The guidance provided during our session cannot be used as legal documentation or for formal educational planning. 

• Therapeutic Intervention:

  • While we offer strategies that can be used in therapeutic contexts, this session does not replace ongoing therapeutic interventions that may be recommended or already in place under the guidance of another healthcare professional.

  No-Show and Cancellation Policy

  • No-Show: No refund will be provided if a session is missed without 24 hour prior notice.

  • Rescheduling: We’ll allow rescheduling with 24-hour notice. However, same-day cancellations will incur a 50% fee to cover our time.
