Allah is Al-Qayyūm: the One who is perfectly Self-Subsisting and who sustains creation. Human beings are not self-subsisting. We require Allah, food, sleep, shelter, care, knowledge, relationship, and community. This workbook therefore does not teach “I need nobody.” It explores how to develop enough capacity to responsibly sustain a life of one’s own while remaining capable of healthy interdependence.
THEOLOGICAL BOUNDARY
Only Allah is truly Self-Subsisting. Human independence is always partial, contingent, embodied, and relational. Needing help is not a spiritual failure.
