Workbook 64 - Al Wajid- How Much is Enough?

This workbook explores wealth as more than accumulation. Money matters: it can provide food, shelter, healthcare, education, privacy, safety, mobility, options, and the capacity to give. Yet a wealthy life may also contain time, health, knowledge, trustworthy relationships, meaningful work, spiritual grounding, community, beauty, and enough margin to live according to one’s values.

THEOLOGICAL BOUNDARY

Allah is free of need; human beings are not. Al-Wājid is included in widely circulated lists of the Beautiful Names, though scholars differ over the exact enumerated list and the name does not occur explicitly in the Qur’an as a divine name. Qur’an 35:15 gives the clearest anchor for this workbook: humanity is in need of Allah, while Allah is Al-Ghaniyy - free of need. Human “sufficiency” is therefore always measured, created, contingent, and dependent upon Allah.
