“I thought it went well.”
You came out of the interview feeling good. You answered every question. They smiled, they nodded, they said they’d be in touch.
Then the email arrived. “Unfortunately, on this occasion...”
No reason. No feedback worth having. Just a polite no, and the same question going round your head: what did I do wrong?
Or maybe it’s the other kind of interview. A “what would you do if...” question comes up, your mind goes blank, and you spend the rest of the hour trying to recover.
Why you never find out
Interviewers don’t often tell you the real reason. Feedback after a rejection is usually short, careful and vague, because few people want to say “your answers didn’t show what you did” or “you lost us on the scenario question”.
So you go into the next interview making the same mistakes, without knowing what they are. You can’t fix what nobody tells you.
A mock interview gives you that feedback before it costs you a job, not after.
What you’ll find out
How you come across in the first few minutes, when impressions form
Which of your answers land, and which leave the interviewer unsure what you did
How you handle follow up questions when an answer is thin
How you come across on a scenario question
What’s landing and what isn’t, while there’s still time to fix it
What you get
One hour on a video call with me as the hiring manager
Questions built around the role you’re going for
Straight feedback on what’s landing and what isn’t
How it works
Buy the Mock Interview and tell me the job description, your CV/Resume, your interview date and your time zone at checkout.
I’ll email you to agree a time that suits us both.
I’ll send you the link for the call.
I interview you as the hiring manager, then give you straight feedback.
Use the feedback to practice, so you walk into the real interview with the gaps already closed.
Who it’s for
You’re getting interviews but not offers, and you don’t know why
Scenario questions or follow up questions throw you
You have an interview coming up and want to test yourself first
You want honest, constructive feedback on how to improve
Why me
I’ve spent 28 years in operational leadership, hiring people along the way. You’ll be interviewed by someone who has made real hiring decisions, and you’ll get the feedback a hiring manager would think but wouldn’t usually say to your face.
FAQ
Do I need an interview booked?
No. It helps to have a real role in mind, but a job advert you’re aiming for works too.
Is it just me and you?
Yes.
Will it feel like a real interview?
As close as I can make it, and that can feel uncomfortable, just like the real thing. My approach is supportive: you’re treated with respect, and you get the honest truth about what to improve and how to do it.
Want your questions and answers prepared as well?
The Interview Preparation Bundle adds the interview questions and answers, so your answers are built before we test them. Both together are $350.
