The Book of Amun Ra: The Book of Ancestors presents a radical departure from the mainstream narrative of primitive early humanity.

Have you ever felt like the Eurocentric narrative of history you were fed was biased?

Have you ever questioned the mainstream narrative of hunter-gatherer theory and equally roll your eyes about ancient aliens?

All of our most recent discoveries of architecture predating the Sumerian culture push the timeline back much further, and it is time to consider that perhaps there is truth to our old legends.

By combing through a global library of mythological records about the world before the Bronze Age, and collaborating with more than a dozen Egyptian, Persian, Hindu, Polynesian, First Nations, Greek, and Chinese scholars, author Zhu Yong Rui and his team have attempted to reconstruct the full political history of humankind, from the Out of Africa migrations onward. Drawing on ancient records beyond Western Eurocentric interpretation offers an alternative perspective on history: our own.

In this 365-page guide, filled with maps, photos, excerpts from ancient texts, and cutting-edge DNA research, verifying the Hindu Yuga timeline and confirming the existence of our ancient ancestral gods using the latest global DNA migration data, major geological findings, and archaeological evidence, The Book of Ancestors presents a new—yet profoundly ancient—exploration of our human origins in what the author calls the Avatar/Atua Theory of Human Development.

The author, 朱永睿 (Raymond Chu), is a World Press Photo Award–winning documentary filmmaker for Time Inc. with 15 years of experience creating commercial work for clients including Grey Advertising, Kiehl's, MetLife Insurance, fashion brands such as Coperni and Georg Jensen, and musicians from Roc Nation to Al Jardine of The Beach Boys, actors like Neil Patrick Harris, and more. His previous screenplay was a semifinalist for the 2015 Sundance Writers Lab, and this is his first academic research book. Raymond holds a BFA in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, specializing in World Traditional Theatre, and has trained in Peking Opera, Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, Kalaripayattu, Balinese and Javanese dance, Thai puppetry, Japanese Noh and Kabuki, Italian Commedia dell’arte, Shakespearean drama, ballet, and West African dance, and is certified in German longsword and stage combat.

The truth is stranger than any fiction.
