The food guide I'd hand you if you were coming to visit me next week - from a local who's lived here for over 10 years.

What's inside:

Breakfast & Brunch. Sorted by neighbourhood so you can find one near where you're staying.

Lunch. Including set lunch and pre-theatre menus under £30. Some of Edinburgh's best restaurants do a midday menu for a third of the dinner price, and most visitors never find out. The guide lists them all - restaurant, price, and the times they're served - so you can plan around it.

Cafés & Bakeries. Specialty coffee, proper sourdough, the pastries worth walking ten extra minutes for. For a quick break or a slow treat.

Why I made it:

I get the same DMs every day. Where should we eat? What's the best afternoon tea? Sunday roast - where? We're vegan, is there anywhere good? Any gluten-free places?

I've been answering them one by one for years. Eventually I thought - I should just put this in one place.
