I’ve cherished my kids’ artwork for years, saving every single piece — all carefully tucked away in a bin in the basement. I’ve always loved creating my own art, but recently I’d been feeling creatively blocked. My place of employment shut its doors unexpectedly at the beginning of October. I had been there for 18 years and was quite devastated by it. Art is my real passion, but I had been in a rut for the past few months. Then one day, I came across one of Shana’s posts, and it instantly reignited my inspiration. I signed up for the Heirloom Collage Method right away. Her thoughtful instruction met creative freedom — the perfect balance that made this project truly inspiring to create. Her attention to detail in the videos, along with all the helpful tips and tricks, made the entire process flow with such ease and joy. This project literally brought me back to life. I only wish I had more boards to create! I will cherish this piece for the rest of my days!

The online course was simple and straightforward which made it easy to follow and encouraged me to experiment. I don’t have children of my own, so I had to ask a niece to allow me to use doodles by her 2 and 4 year olds and a bit of hers! I had very few doodles— very little to work with. But, I trusted the process and having little to use turned out to be a good thing. It forced me to limit the layout to create more abstract looking art, and I am quite pleased.
