You just started your first ABA job and you have more questions than answers.
You have a client, a program book full of clinical terminology, and a session coming up faster than you feel ready for. Your training gave you the theory. Your agency gave you a schedule. But nobody sat down with you and walked you through what any of this actually looks like in the room — the prompting, the data, the behavior moments, the notes, the first conversation with a parent.
This call fills that gap.
In 45 minutes on Zoom, you will sit down with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has supervised dozens of RBTs across home, clinic, and school settings in South Florida. You will get the clinical foundation that turns a certified RBT into a confident one.
What we cover:
We work through a real clinical vignette together — a fictional client scenario built around the situations new RBTs encounter most in their first weeks on the job. Think of it as a competency assessment-style walkthrough, but without the pressure and without the stakes. You ask every question you have been holding back. Nothing is too basic. Nothing is off-limits.
By the end of the session you will know how to structure your first week, how to approach your first session with a new client, how to read a behavior intervention plan and understand what it is actually asking you to do, how to run a skill acquisition program with confidence, what to do when behavior happens and you are not sure if you responded correctly, how to write a session note that your supervisor will not send back to you, and how to communicate with your clinical team when you need support.
This is the orientation meeting your agency should have scheduled. The one where someone sits across from you, walks you through a real scenario, and makes sure you leave feeling prepared instead of overwhelmed.
This is not supervision. This is a one-time professional development and onboarding guidance session. It does not count toward RBT supervision hours and does not establish a supervisory relationship. To protect client privacy, please do not share any identifying information about your clients during this session — no names, records, data sheets, or documents. All guidance is scenario-based and built around your questions and skill development needs.
What you walk away with: A clear plan for your first week. Answers to the questions that have been making you nervous. A written follow-up summary of the key points from your session delivered to your inbox within 24 hours.
45 minutes. Zoom. Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
This session is for educational and professional development purposes only. It does not constitute clinical supervision, establish a supervisory relationship, or fulfill BACB supervision requirements. No client-identifying information should be shared during this session.
