You can choose your Foster pup and virtually foster as many pups as you’d like.
Become a Virtual Foster and you will help us:
Feed your Foster(s)
Provide all needed vet care for your Foster(s)
Provide toys and enrichment activities for your Foster(s)
Provide professional training and age appropriate socialization for your Foster(s)
Comfortably and safely house your Foster(s)
For one dog 4 months and older, the cost runs between $832 - $1,082 plus $19/week for food.
For one puppy from birth through 12 weeks costs approximately $347 if no medical intervention is needed beyond vaccines and fecal testing. We consistently assist with costs for community pet’s including puppies and mama dogs.
*Three dogs in our care are currently taking medication, and 5 receive daily probiotics. These costs are not included above.
Approximate breakdown of costs for dogs 4 months and older:
$19 per week for food & treats, $50 for toys and enrichment, $632 housing, $350-$400 average vet costs including spay/neuter, $150-$200 average vet costs without spay/neuter

The THU Virtual Foster program enables me to give a little each month without claiming responsibility for a dog I can’t have right now. It’s great to see the social media updates of the virtual foster pups. It makes me feel like I’m doing something to help people who are trying to end the dog overpopulation and stray problem we have in Taos. Thank you for making it easy for me to contribute without feeling guilty that I’m not out catching dogs. Keep doing what you’re doing!
