This isn't just for performers...

This is for anyone who has something useful to say and wants to feel stronger saying it!

You can have something smart, funny, helpful, beautiful, or important to share… and still feel the room slipping away from you.

Maybe you rush. Maybe you over-explain.

Maybe you start talking faster because silence feels like a trap door opening under your shoes.

Or maybe you’re perfectly competent, but when all the attention turns toward you, some tiny ghost inside your ribcage starts ringing a panic bell.

The good news?

Commanding a room is not a personality trait.

It’s a skill.

A learnable, practiceable, extremely useful skill.

You do not need to become louder, slicker, more “professional,” or magically transform into a motivational speaker who owns three wireless microphones and says things like “unlock your greatness” while pacing in front of a blue-lit curtain.

You simply need a few practical performance tools.

You need to understand how attention works in a live room.

You need to know how to begin, how to pace, how to pause, how to recover, and how to make people feel like they’re in good hands.

PAUL STRICKLAND is a full-time professional performance storyteller, speaker, and coach who has spent years getting rooms to listen: festival rooms, theater rooms, library rooms, workshop rooms, comedy rooms, ghost story rooms, rooms full of kids, rooms full of skepticism, tired rooms, rooms that smelled faintly of institutional carpet and burnt coffee...

He has performed Off-Broadway at the SoHo Playhouse in NYC, served as Teller-in-Residence at the International Storytelling Center, and appeared as a Featured Teller at the National Storytelling Festival... But he has also performed in places where the “stage” was a chair, the “lighting design” was a suspiciously wobbly ceiling fan, and the entire job was still the same:

Get attention. Hold attention. Help the room stay with you.

In this 90-minute workshop, Paul will teach practical performance tools to help you get attention, hold attention, and recover when the room starts drifting.

Because the goal is not to become some fake, polished, hyper-confident version of yourself.

The goal is to speak in a way that helps people stay with you.

What WILL Happen:

You’ll learn how to:

  • start speaking in a way that makes people settle in and pay attention

  • use pacing and silence to hold their attention

  • stop over-explaining and rushing your way out of authority

  • make your body and voice support the message instead of leaking nervous energy

  • recover if attention drifts or gets interrupted

  • create the feeling that the room is in good hands

This is for storytellers, speakers, teachers, coaches, artists, workshop leaders, presenters, facilitators, and anyone who has something worth saying but wants to feel stronger saying it.

You’ll leave with practical tools you can use immediately in stories, talks, workshops, presentations, pitches, introductions, meetings, and performances.

Because people don’t only listen to the words.

They feel the pace, the pauses, the clarity, confidence and focus.

And all of that can be practiced... Presence Is a Skill.

COMMAND ANY ROOM: Speak So People Listen is for anyone who wants to stop merely getting through the moment and start actually holding the room.
